Today was my first try at these and I have made 30 dollars playing four of the $2.5 ones, I started the day with $32! I basically played the 20 seater ones and 18 seater 6-max ones. I played these in the microgaming network and they are 6 min blinds so you can easily wait for good spots to make your move.

I can't belive how soft these are, basically in the two that I didn't cash, one I played too aggressive and loosely coming to the 'final table' a chip leader and the other one I lost when I guy hit a runner-runner straight on me calling with ace high against my pair of kings from the flop.

I think I will play these till I get upto about $200 and then move up to the $5 ones.

Also the fact that there is a big pay day for every top three finish seems to make them to be more profitable than normal SNGs, as most of the players are either maniacs or super tight means that it is easy to get to the three top spots.

Playing on nordicbet poker, got a free 20 euros there which is like 30+ dollars. Now I'm just over 80 dollars.

How did you get the 20 free euros? Might give it a shot myself :)

There was link on a Finnish website, I think the promotion might have expired as I have not seen it lately.

There is strong variance in SNGs, compared to ring games (MTTs another matter), so wait till all the numbers are in a few months from now.

Yes, but it seems that because these are so soft that I can basically finish in the money the same as I can in one table sit and gos while winning double the money. This should equal half the variance of STTs.

Well, you must have found a soft site, because it's not so easy to run over the tables at Stars, even harder at Tilt...

Well OK I don't have the numbers, but I've heard the opposite, and in my experience it seems to be true. Mind, I am not a multi-tabler, and I am talking limit ring games.. We may be comparing apples and oranges here. Seems with the SNGs, I can be killing them all for a month and then get decimated the next.. with ring games I can limit losses on a downswing by dropping levels, playing tighter, changing games, etc.

Also, my games of choice are usually stud, hi lo, omaha, razz etc.. I play holdem for SNGs and MTTs.

Do you have any stats handy?
