In live how should you muck your hands if it's cash and you win before showdown, do you hold it until the dealer is waiting for you?
In tournaments after winning a pot before showdown, is it ok to just muck right after opp folds?

I guess I've heard different opinions about this and just want some clarification.

Generally speaking, in both cash games and tournaments, unless the dealer tells you otherwise the safest option is to keep your cards until you've been awarded the pot and all the other player's cards have been mucked.

If I win before showdown I always hold or cap my cards until the dealer pushes me the pot and then I muck. I do this in both tournaments and cash.

This is a good policy.

In the exact moment that you fold, dealer take your cards
to muck is just fold, in your turn

You definitely should keep your card. Let's say you did not pay attention enough to number of players in the pot and you mucked your wining hand? That can be really bad. I know it shouldn't happen but it's better to develop a positive habit.

And if there is a showdown in a cash game turn your hand over unless you are absolutely sure you are beaten . I have mucked the winner at least 3 times in big cash pots and I cant believe how stupid it was . One time was a sloppy home game where the player- dealer didn't line the board cards up straight and my mucked jj set allin lost to a straight even though the river paired the board . If I had just shown my hand when the chips went in on the turn someone would have spotted it !

for me i normally muck the cards after im awarded the chips, just always did so naturally as it seems like the natural most sensible thing to do, wouldnt a case where i won the hand uncontested but muck my cards before i got the chips and then somehow i theres a mix up about my cards and i cant get the chips idk

Keep your cards till you are recognized as the hand winner.
