MTT help

I'm a rookie, playing only for a couple of months.
Is it normal to play multi table tournaments ?
I like them alot... yeah, i know is harder to play... no limit... and then MTT... but this is what I like... when I go to ring games I found my game sux there alot, but at MTT I was at final tables even with 1000 ppl registered (no freerolls).

Maybe I'm just a rookie and will adapt soon to ring games too.
The problem is that is very hard for me to clear bonuses with tournaments... the good rake is at ring tables (noble for example doesnt give crowns for tourneys).

Or maybe an advice to play better at MTT
I bought David Apostolico Art of War and Poker Tournaments from amazon and will read it.

I think MTT's are a wonderful learning tool for new players. Everyone starts on a level playing field, and you get to play (hopefully) for an extended period with a single, minimal investment. Of course, the strategies can be radically different between ring games and tournaments. But the poker plays the same and the more hands you can see, the better you'll get.

Lots of people prefer MTT to ring games. I did for ages till I played ring games more.

I also prefer the fact I win instantly at a ring game (or if its this week lose). I have had a couple of big scores in MTT though.

Just one mistake can knock you out so I really have to concentrate more on them. I started off playing just sit and gos for play money then went to free MTT. Way back when there were no freerolls.

Nearly all the sites require ring game play to clear bonuses. Basically they make more money off the ring games, so its better for them to get you playing there, specially if they are giving away money.

I enjoy playing in MTT, but to make money consistently over time I play the ring games and sit-n-gos.

my two cents: do/play what you like best, what comes to you most naturally. some people are into ring games, others yet in tourneys (then some into STTs, some others into MTTs).
just like some people are mostly loose/aggressive, some are more solid/conservative, some prefer holdem, some omaha, etc etc.

I personally prefer SnG tournaments, but I do think that any tournament is better and more experience for your money in comparison to ring games.

mtt games are fun....but more difficult than ring games.....i suggest playing the first hour or two of a mtt very tight aggressive....wait for those monster starting hands to play....or for your opponents to make a mistake....in time your game will come......practice with 1 table sit and gos to work on your final table game...so your ready when the money comes
