So been playing an MTT for about 25mins $3 freezeout. All the hyperfish have busted and a few standard donks remain. The usual theme - players going all in pre flop to avoid the skill element. So im last to act and 3 players go all in before me. they are reasonable ( for $3nl ) and have been playing about 10-25% of hands. I have 89suited a great hand for busting big pairs. My strategy for MTT has always been play aggressive early on to either build up a dominant stack to see me to the final table or bust out early. I am not overly concerned about eeking out a lowly placing for a few measly dollars.

Bearing in mind my MTT strategy, was i wrong to call all in putting these players on overpairs / AK / AQ etc

The abuse i got when i won with a flush was endless.

The other hands were QQ A9 and 47 ( your guess is as good as mine)

Bad call.

I'm assuming the all-ins were pre-flop and that at least one of the other players had you covered. Given the range that you put your opponents on you're less than 20% to win.

You could make a case for it under some extreme circumstances.

Final table and a call of less than 10% of your stack for instance. I'd take the worst of it there to knock out 1-3 players. Bounty tournaments and maybe one or two other contrived scenarios. None of which appear to be the case here though:D

I agree with Double-A only certain times u should call with a hand like that. u probably shouldn't do that in the begging of the tournament. Good luck though

3 allins ahead of you and you call with 89 suited?
Wow, just .......wow.
But hey, that's the way you play your game and if I ever meet you in a tournament, I will thank you in advance for increasing my stack.:)

people say.....

its a bad move, i certainly would CALL the all in with it, but that or those kind of hands always seem to hammer me even when im dominating....But then if you dont care about staying in a tourney unless you go deep....then sure, gamble.
