There are many movies about the world of poker and today I want to share them and recommend them to see if they have not yet made my 3 favorites that would be "Rounders" the most popular favorite and the one I think is the best of all on Poker cash, "High Roller" the biopic of the great Stu Ungar and finally "Deal" a film in which an exjugador teaches him everything that university student knows to turn him into a great player, I have seen many and I know that there are other very good that I have to see, so I ask to recommend some others to see if you have not seen them and put me on it immediately!

Rounders was a great movie (after all had the legendary Matt Damon), I definitely recommend it.

Saw deal and rounders but haven't seen high roller. Boiler room is a good movie but not solely about poker

Maverick is a surprisingly entertaining movie (despite the highly unlikely last hand).

Maverick with Mel Gibson in the title role. A good adventure comedy.

It is very good, it is a great Western and of the best films of Mel Gibson

"Cincinnati Kid"

I think this is one of the best films I've seen. But a little confusing plot of the film. Interesting actors and interesting game.
For me I did not like the ending of the film . I recommend to watch

"The Cincinnati Kid" and "The Poker Of Dead" are very old for me, but I will have to see "All In" and "Finder's Fee"

I literally just finished watching the Daniel Negraneau (or however you spell it) documentary. The beginning of it was really good and interesting. It talked about his rise and thats pretty much the best part. The rest is kinda boring and talks about how he talks a lot lol. Fun fact this site is featured in the documentary! awesome

Yeah I recommend "Lucky You". It gets a lot of hate (mostly for Drew Barrymore's performance, I think), but to me it felt more like something that would really happen in the "poker world" than any of the others.

I think it gets a lot of hate because there is a lot of unrealistic plays especially the last one which is a textbook softplay/collusion.

See that's the weird thing - yes the ending is textbook softplay/collusion/chip dumping but they did that for story reasons so I can live with it.

IIRC they actually had Doyle Brunson consult on that movie to make the poker seem more "real" and for the most part I think it's a really good depiction. Certainly better than Rounders or (LOL) the poker bits of Casino Royale.

Actually, I think that last hand of "Lucky You" was just as dumb as that Royal Flush hand of 007.

Robert Duvall's character not only knows for sure that his son mucked his winning hand on purpose, but he's positive it was AA.

It's never bothered me.

The way the actual hand played out is fine - as opposed to the straight flush-boat-boat-flush contrived nonsense of the final hand in Casino Royale (which isn't even the worst hand in that movie).

I agree it seems incredibly unlikely a normal person would be mucking the best hand in the same spot as Eric Bana's character, but if that's a "problem" it's with the character, not the actual poker. Plus no normal person has ever found themself in the final three of the wsop Main Event playing against their dad and some douchebag.

Loved Rounders, did not care much for Deal. I did not watch the one about Stu Ungar. Maverick is a nice movie.
