sometimes it's inevitable, it seems like you stay connected 24 hours and do not even watch the time go by. Does that matter to you, too?

In terms of playing poker for 24 hours straight without sleep?

I'd consider trying it once or twice at micro stakes for fun or for a prop bet but probably wouldn't play for serious or regularly like that.

I and my friends have played video games for 24 hours straight for charities over the years but that's maybe 2-3x a year. Definitely not healthy to pull all nighters too often.

I think it' not a good idea to be addicted by such lifestyle. But it depends on your physiology.

I think that playing 24 hours a day is not necessary because we all know that to be successful in poker you need stay healthy diet and pure mind.

The same thing has happened to me a few days ago, as I have been sitting at live tables and when I realize the time, the day is dawning and I have to work without sleep.

When I play poker I can not sleep for a long time. Sometimes I forget about time then I'll sleep a couple of hours and play again. This lasts until I'm completely tired and then sleep about 12 hours and I do not play for a long time. And sometimes it happens that I can not play for half an hour for a long time, because I just do not feel like it. It all depends on your mood.

careful, you can not make poker more important than anything in your life !! this becomes a Vice, just like cocaine, crack and others !! This too can make you lose money that you should not !! now if you are a professional guy who lives in poker, pays your bills, your income, sustainability comes from poker, that's fine, but do not forget that your mind needs rest! it is always good to create goals and routines success is more assured!

Oh, oh!

Sleeping well, eating well, working out, making sex, funning a lot, are very important to your results in the game, care your body and care your mind and you will be a best player.

I agree, especially since 24 hours in the game obscures your mind and does not allow you to make quick and adequate decisions. In a healthy body healthy mind. Do not forget about it. :icon_rr:

When you start playing poker seriously it is easy to lose time. The best way to keep track of it is by making 10 - 15 min brakes.

24 hours to spend in a row in the game is hard, you can play but this is if a serious game takes place where you can win big money, and you need to take breaks in a poker game, the biggest game I had was about 7-8 hours I'm tired in such a game, I don't know, but maybe someone plays and more time!

Sleep is a periodic functional state of the human body. Personally, I feel drunk, without sleep. In such a state it is impossible to play poker or engage in any other work.

Well, thank God I sleep at least 8 hours every night, and I believe that sleep is essential for any athlete, including in poker. For high performance you need to have a good night's sleep, as well as adequate food and a process of meditation prior to anything you do

Ya that's a long time to be in total control mentally without an adequate break. Even half of that, say 12 hours is too long for me at my age and health. The OSS main event last Sunday was over 14 hours.....not for me lol

When we are deeply absorbed in an activity, we usually don't notice how time passes away. Same is true for poker or any other game.

The main thing is your interest in that activity. However, i don't like the idea of playing too long. It creates a conflict between "what you want to do" and "what you need to do". Your body "needs" sleep to be in shape and your "want" insist on playing. You must maintain a balance between them, otherwise you will lose both.

The tragedy is, our poker rooms (though well aware of these negative impacts) schedule their tournaments in such a manner that they last longer. I saw many tournaments which goes on for more than 12 hours.

Although we talk about discipline in everything such as time to work, time to sleep, time to eat and drink and so on but sometimes it is very difficult to discipline while playing poker.

I think it's a bad idea to play 24 a day, you will get tired and there will be bad results

long as tournies

i logged in to have a look at the venom one morning and whilst i was waiting i saw a pretty big tournament was running so i decided to have a peak and a lil dream to myself about being in it.

i looked up and it gad been running for over 9 hours but then it made me realize that i needed to learn to be more patient and actually be more prepared to stay up for long hours if i want to be into the bigger prize money because that just seems to be the norm for some sites.

so sometimes you dont have a choice about being up for hours on end in some tournies
like i try and sleep between them to still get the minimum hours required just spread over the day

wouldnt recommend depriving yourself of sleep though
