I am considering this question. Now,I think EQ is more important to a poker player.People with high EQ know other people better.Sometimes ,they can know what you are thinking. What do you think?

EQ one of the main aspects of poker, in other words, is your level of thinking, whose purpose is to advance thinking about him and making the right decisions. Here are the basic levels of thinking.
1st Level – What cards do I have ?
2nd Level – What do my opponents have?
3rd Level – What do they think I have?
4th Level – What do they think I think they have?
5th Level – Yes, you can keep going and going…..

But IQ too important, in other words poker math. This counting outs, pot odds, Implied odds, dispersion, ICM

From all this it is worth, you can explore the math, but the level of thinking comes with age. Few achieves a high level of thinking, the fifth level, it can only be said professionals.

I think both are a little important but what will define your success more than either a high EQ or IQ is your ability to focus your attention on making and acting upon key observations.

So someone with a lower IQ and EQ who is capable of focusing their attention will outperform those with far higher IQ and EQ's who are less capable of focusing their attention. (although focus of attention naturally plays a part in EQ and IQ)

IQ all the way, because i think: if you have IQ with time you can develope EQ, but not the other way around,

for instance you canstart having a great EQ and little IQ where do you think is your limit? very low, right

but if you have great IQ (superlative) and average EQ your limit will be higher while you develop your EQ,

so don´t overestimate EQ however, will let you go step up some levels

IMO, all comes down to where Intuition fits into this. You can think all you want but if you are in tune with your intuititive senses you will beat the thinker most if not all of the times.

IQ is essentially how well your mind can process things, as I understand it. People with high IQs can problem solve, and they have better logic I believe.

EQ would just be how educated someone is right?

I would think IQ is much more important/helpful to a poker player.

Many of the pros are very smart people. I would think many of them have above average IQs.

I think it matters if you are playing online or live. IQ if you are an online player . Both if you are playing live.

Agreed, IQ is the ability to use knowledge to a productive end. Having knowledge with a lesser ability to use it properly can be dangerous.
