Anyone have a moral dilemma playing for real money? Does this conflict with your religious beliefs? If yes or yes ... do you buy lottery tickets?

No moral dilemma at all. About the second thing i am not religious to be honest. I do not buy lottery tickets since there is no strategy behind it, unlike poker.

Gonna assume that those folks who find that playing poker conflicts with their religious beliefs don't play poker.

Why its a moral dilemma for u its beyond me, since u`ve asked the question i assume u are religious, and if u are, u really really should not have an issue with money, since the church dont mind ASKING YOU FOR IT, u should not mind nor any1 for that matter, HOW U SPEND IT, as long is it yours and u`ve earned it.

In terms of religion there are no moral dilemmas. Lottery tickets do not buy. Enough what makes pokerstars poker the lottery!!!

When people say that God tells them to run for POTUS , I find it hard to find anything immoral about a lil gambling .

Nope, no moral dilemma for me. I do not understand why it should be anyway. Nothing wrong with money, it is the juice of freedom so if any religion thinks otherwise become an atheist ;)

no moral problems - don't believe in real gambling, games where random numbers appear but willing to bet when if I am wrong it is just my bad judgement.

Victor your question suggest that if you play for real money might be wrong for some religious people, but if you play with play money is OK, so I will say you should play Free rolls and if you win somehow, donate the money to a local charity or send it to my account and I will invest it in charity tournaments. ;)

I have no moral dilemma. I get the question. 3 bad things: gambling, smoking, drinking.

I keep hearing this from Fundievangelicals who are adamantly opposed to on-line Poker. They are all hypocrites, as I don't know a single one without a 401k. Oh, but they'll say that investing isn't gambling. When I hear claims like this, I defy them to tell me the difference. The casino has vig on all the games, and there's a rake at the Poker tables. How does that differ from a stock broker's commission they pay on every transaction? The stock market runs bullish and bearish; you have heaters and runbad at Poker, so what's the difference? They say they're investing in stocks; I reply that I'm investing in cards, so what's the difference?

As for lottery tickets, I've never bought one and I never will because I don't make such massively -EV bets.

I've made a helluvalot more at Poker than in the markets.

Who is this god person you all keep talking about?

And yes there are times where the lotto provides you with pot-odds to buy a ticket, but I rarely buy them even then.

I have no moral dilemma. The winner is the player who has spent enough time in the study and analysis of the game. Every work should be rewarded. Even if it is a hobby. There is nothing wrong. When I buy lottery tickets , and then give them to friends.

Why to have? You do something interesting, containing psycology, maths and luck.
