Mobile and tablet players

Anybody else made the observation that these people are always - without exception - fish?

I'm guessing it's because when people sit to play a game on their mobile or tablet, it is out of boredom. And a bored person wants to be involved in as many hands as possible.

I actually make a point of making notes on mobile/tablet players saying that they play by this means because they always transpire to be fish with random bet sizing and immediate calls/bets.

IDK why you would think this.

They could be passengers on a car or bus (like I was yesterday and bubbled a FT of a tourney )

or their laptops are broke.

Or they just are degens needing to play and they aren't near their PCs

Personally speaking, i play on mobile when i'm bored or when i travel so yes, good point there. And if "mobile player" comes from undeveloped country, like myself, in that case you can even more involve in hands against these players because probability that mobile connecetion is unstable is huge but only if you are greedy

I got that filling too. The majority of those mobile players are fishers. The reason for that: i really don't now? Maybe because those batteries doesn't long too much.

This is not always the case. Sometimes people play with the mobile client when they are away from home. For example, at work during a break or get home on public transport. So do not underestimate the opponents.

Sometime i'm using tablet.. Because want to go out drink coffie and play What is problem with that.. lol

For me all players are equal

It is becuase of distraction. They play a little bit out of their game when they are on mobile phone or tablet. I told myself to not play using mobile phone anymore. You can't focus 100% the fact that you are using the mobile phone justify that you are in an environment not suitable for poker.

I play on my tablet at carbon and I usually do well because I avoid the temptation to multi table. This helps my game because I stay at level 3 thinking instead of ABC poker Ahmed I multi table alot.

I play on a tablet sometimes. It's alright but its not my favorite. I don't assume every tablet player is a fish though. There's many reasons, as listed above.

It is quite hard to judge your opponents just because they play on mobile or tablet. But one thing you can know for sure is they are not grinding a lot of tables at that time (5 tables max on tablet at Pokerstars) and they cannot use any tracking program like Pokertracker. That's a good sign!

And do you actually adjust the strategy when there are mobile/tablet players at table?
Or do you select such tables at CG?

yes Im always happy when i see a tablet or mobile butten. The reason is easy: im very sure they dont use tracking programs like Poker tracker 4 or HM2

i dont use tablet nor mobile to play, but dont think that is always the case that they are neceserely fishes

You are absolutely right, just don't forget there is an option to turn off the device image.

Generally yes, not very important player plays with a mobile device or with a PC. If a person knows how to play, then he will be playing with the phone, and if it drains every time he AJ, then certainly there and say nothing.

well i belive your only talking about cash game.. atleast the ones i played against in tournaments dosent just go for action all the time. im pretty often on my mobile playing aswell since my pc gets overheated now and then

I like to play on tablet late at night. I leave a movie, make myself comfortable in bed and enjoy. Than I play only one tourament with the same concentration like on laptop or other computer.

Most of them are.But some good players can also use these so dont be sure that it is fish you should check it.But if player plays by mobile or tablet in freeroll so it is fish and you can use him for double-up.

Just curious how you know if someone is playing from a mobile device? For instance, on Carbon, if you play one mobile hand, you get an accolade. That doesn't mean they play from a mobile device all the time, lol. I have that accolade, and I only played one hand during a promotion to get into a freeroll, as well as the accolade. Maybe FTP and PS have some indicator that I'm not aware of that let's you know they are playing mobile. If not, you are basically making assumptions.
