Every once in a while I seem to miss-click on merge. Luckily so far it's been calling a small raise etc but it could just as easily happen when someone is all-in & I have 2-7.

I'm on a laptop that has a typical sensor that you roll your finger over to move the mouse. If you tap the sensor its the same as a left click although I never intentionally use this feature I think it happens when I'm moving the mouse to fold it thinks I'm clicking over the call button. Anyone have any tips on avoiding miss-clicks?

Keep your fingers/hands off keypad till its your turn to play then carefully make your move. I've made some of those in the past but usually when I'm trying to make my preplay move selection. I personally do not like the keypad on laptops so I have a USB mouse to make my playing easier.

1} After any action on your part, move the mouse onto the table or anywhere but the action button areas.

2] Look in the control panel for your mouse setup and turn off the tap function.

Get a real mouse and play on a table. It is going to allow you to be much more precise on your clicks and also allow you to move faster if you're multi-tabling. Worst thing you can do imo is multi-table with a trackpad.

Most touchpad drivers these days offer a sensitivity adjustment that helps prevent accidental contact from your palm or fingers from being interpreted as mouse actions.

Or do like I do and use an external mouse. I have them for all of my laptops, I only use the touchpad/stick if I'm really on the go and have the laptop literally in my lap. And even then sometimes I'll use my thigh or the seat next to me with a wireless/bluetooth mouse. If you do this, check for the feature to disable the touchpad when an external mouse is present.

Worst thing you can do imo is multi-table with a trackpad.

Yeah, pretty much a recipe for disaster when multi-tabling.

You can easily disable the tap-to-click function, as someone stated earlier. I have mine disabled for this very reason. At one point, I did call an all-in by touching the sensor the wrong way. Ever since, I disabled the tap-to-click.

I normally don't like to pre-click my actions for auto-fold, auto-call, etc, because I like to vary my tempo or give someone an occasional sweat. However, when I am playing on my laptop I tend to use the auto options for precisely, the reason you are saying. Then most of the time depending on postion, I can un-select the option before the action is on me. I don't think it hurts my game too much.

when my wife started playing online poker on her laptop I showed her how to do this, it works like a charm for her now.
