i played 5 10man sng's like another forum member suggested me too as i was having no luck at the micro cash tables, $2+.40c to enter, i won 2 for $10 each time, placed 2nd for $6 and came 5th once and 6th once.

so it cost me $12 to enter and i won $26,i know i may have been lucky these few sng's and cant base my win ratio on such a small amount of games, but what would be a resonable enough win ratio on average for players to keep at it. i.e if im only getting in the money once every 20 games, give up.

Too small a sample size to get any meaningful, reliable stats. The bigger question is, what do you want to get out of SNGs ? Is it to increase your bankroll ? Do you want to make an income from poker ? Are you trying to make money to buy something specific ? How much time do you have to spend on playing / improving your play.

Once you figure out what your goal is and how much time you can devote to it, then you can work backwards to see how long it will take to achieve. For Example :

I want to make $500 a month from single table SNGs. I know that over my last 2000 games, my ROI is 20% at the $5 level. In order to make $500, I need to play $2500 worth of buyins or 500 SNG games in 30 days or average 16-17 SNGs per day and maintain a 20% ROI.

Typically a 'winning' player who plays SNG/STT (single table tourney - 'sng') is ~40% ITM (< in the money).
