A leopard never changes his spots. Matusow is obnoxious - nothing wrong with that, but to verbally abuse and swear at another player is grounds for a sit out or something. He likes to truly insult people and he's not kidding. I guess he's so insecure, he needs to make himself feel better because he can't seem to win. I hope he goes out on a real bad beat so I can watch him cry again this year. LOL :D (I'm bad...LOL)

LOL - I don't care who started it, I just don't like Matusow. Maybe he's a great guy away from the table, but his poker persona has alot to be desired. And I'm sure many hands before - Matusow egged Sheikan on and he was just getting back.

He really put Raymer down last year and everyone felt it. He realized the crowd wasn't having it and apologized. Raymer really didn't want to accept the apology but did so anyway. Raymer was not happy about the rude comment. Raymer got his due though because Matusow busted out shortly.

Some players can talk and rant at the table and do quite well, but Matusow might try shutting up ... he might win.

I have read some of the post to my thread...yeah last year Matusow acted like a ***** with Raymer granted..But this time he had every right to go into flip mode with Sheikan...Yes he is cockey and self obsorbed and yeah been in jail and battled addiction......look where he's at now! He was a multi millionaire lost it...gambling and whatever else..He stayed on the grind and is back on top without giving up...People have spoiled oppinions of his table manners, All pro's are confident and go about that in many way's..I did not like him after watching that with Raymer last year, but you know I respect the man in his game and what he's gone through..If he doesnt Implode he will win this year! I wiil applaude him for that...In poker nice guy's dont always finish first its poker sharks that do that and The Mouth is JAWS at this final table..!

Thanks Guy's

Matusow finished 9th. Good. He lost a ton of money when he had pocket K's vs. pocket A's. Matusow got a K on the flop for the set, but his opponent got runner runner hearts for the nut flush. LOL.

It isn't patty-cakes, its poker. You guys act like because he's had some personal problems, and he can be a ***** at the table, that he is somehow lower than everyone else. Keep in mind, on top of doing a 6 month stretch in jail, being busted after being a millionaire, and battling addiction, he is back at the top of the game. He finished higher than every professional poker player in the main event, there's something to be said for that. Especially since he went out on 2 brutal beats.

You don't have to like him, but you can't deny his skill and personal strength. To go from the top, to the bottom, then back to the top again amidst all the trials he has gone through is a serious personal accomplishment. BTW, that 9th place finish earned him more than any of the naysayers will make playing poker in their lifetime. Have fun Mouth, and don't spend it on blow and hookers man.

Actually there were 3 other professionals at the final table. Including eventual champ Hachem. We've just never heard of them before.

And he may be back at the top of his game poker wise, but they guy just got out of prison 3 months ago and now you are handing him another $1 Million. I hope Mike can turn his life around, but the reality of it is that people with problems don't turn their lives around that fast.

I just don't want to see Mike become a modern day Stu Unger.

The way he conducted himself after being brutalized on his way out was a sort of testament to how he has obviously changed to some degree. And when I said every other pro, I meant significant professional poker player. I follow poker pretty close, and I've not seen mention of any of the other 8 until this years Main Event. Now if this guy that won goes on and builds a real name for himself on the circut, then good for him. But coming into it, he was just another schmoe with 10,000 to enter. As a side note, he actually fronted his own entry, you have to respect that regardless.

Poker "Professional" thats the keyword. He doesn't act like a professional, just a rude little dick. He knows no one is gonna do anything at the table, but trust me, someone might twist his head off someday. He has no right to verbally abuse anyone at a table. Lets look at some winners with class,..Chan, Brunson, Nagraneu, lederer, all can put you on tilt without acting like an idiot or be insulting. All, always respectful win or lose, they ACT like professionals.

Sure he doesn't have the composure or table manners as the other pros you listed, but that doesn't take away from his accomplishment. He's can be a dick, no argument there, but it doesn't take away from his game. That's his style.

I know Mike... I understand these posts, I really do. Mike is a nice guy, and poker isn't very nice sometimes. He is who he is, and on the merits of his play, he is pretty good. I'll leave this one alone, you folks have fun. But, if you run across him, ask him a question you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Bill
