I have a 2 part question:

1 - has anyone read Matthew Janda's book Applications of No-Limit Hold'em?

2 - Does anyone know if Matthew has had real success in professional poker?

Here is why I ask.

I am 300 pages into his 490 page epic. The content is good. It has some terrific manners to calculate lots of situations, but I am wondering if his proposals are actually successful? Much of it seems impossible to apply in real time (probably due to my mental limitations).

I have looked at a couple player databases (wsop player results and THD), and he is not showing up with significant tournament winnings. Maybe because these two databases can only show tournament winnings, and maybe Matt is a cash player.

What do you know????

Just to be clear - I am not trying to bash Matthew in any way. I respect his knowledge. He obviously has a great understanding of the game. I have read that he has all but abandoned poker in lieu of a medical degree (good for him). It is already very tough to sift through the massive amounts of poker information to find the gold, and toss aside the garbage.
