What exactly are these "matrix" tournaments and how are they different from regular SnG's.

Anyone playing them or likeing them, let me know

You actually play in 4 different tourneys all at the same time against the same people. The Buyin is divided by 5 and each tourney will have 1/5 the prize. The Final 1/5th will be paid out in the same manner as the tourneys, but they will be based on points determined on your (4x) Tournament plays. Its not bad. You wont make a win like you would taking 1st at a sit-n-go, but it divides the prize pool up a little more so unless you play REALLY bad, you may get some of it back.

I usually play 5 or 6 $5 SnG tournys at a time. I dont see any kind of good return on the matrix tournys. The only advantage that i can find with these is the fact that you can learn your oponents 4 times as fast. But again....small payout.

They're horrible, IMO.

Buy into a $1.25 SnG and win, and you get $4.50. To make the same amount from a Matrix SnG, you've got to win all four tables.

What they effectively do is spread the prize pool out a lot further. Rather than having three people walk away having earned between $1.80 and $4.50 (I'm sticking with the lowest buy-in here), you end up with seven or eight people walking away with between 30c and $2. Everyone stays playing longer and goes broke slower, but they still go broke.

If you play several S&G at the same time, give em a shot, however if you play $5 buy in, maybe you want to try the $11 matrix... small pay out but small risk also... not bad if you frequently beat those S&G

The Matrix tournies are really good value for you $$
You get to play 4 tournies with one buy in, esentially!
You have four chances to win top 3 spots, plus then the overall win for placing top 3 overall!
You get to play the same people at 4 tables so you can get a really great read on the players to boot!
Very Fun!
Enjoy..
