For those that like to play by the odds, woud you still fold the best hand if the odds said so ?

Say you had Pocket 2.'s the flop comes down 4h 10d Jd... you're opponent moves all in and shows you his KQd. ?

You're opponent has an astouding 21 outs ( 9 flush, 3 k or 3 Q fora higher pair , and 3 non d 9 or A for a staight )

That means HE is 74% to win the hand and you are a 3:1 dog. say the pot is lying you 2:1 to call... do you fols the best hand?

PS... i dont think you can have more outs than that after the flop, but you can have 26 outs if the board pairs the 4 on the turn... but that only 58%

do i fold 2's yes. you need to be 33%/66% to be break even. what about a ThTdJd board? does that give you a few more outs on the flop? did'nt think of that huh?

Yeah, I'd fold the best hand in a heart beat if I was an underdog in the hand. The game is played to the river, not to the flop. In other games that put more emphasis on draws, its even more important to fold the best hand early, since draws are so much stronger.

Easy fold to anyone who likes money, not just math gurus. With 22 you do not have the best hand you have the worst hand. If his hand wins 75% and yours wins 25% he clearly has the best hand. The 5-card poker hand you have at the moment has absolutely no bearing, it's about equity. Your equity is worse than the odds are giving you so it is a clear and easy fold simply because calling will lose you money in the long run.
