I’m The big blind blinds are 100/100. the player to my right bets 3x the B.B. and everyone calls.

Flop is Ac10c7s

I have AK off suit and first to act so I bet 2k. Player that raised folds but the next player goes all in. 3 more players goes all in.

I know someone was chasing the flush but I couldn’t get away from my AK believing it was the best hand. After a min I went all in too. The initial all in had Q4 clubs and the turn was 2c. Everyone else I had beat. Should I have folded? Or did I make the right call just a bad beat.

Well in this spot with multiple all ins like that it is VERY hard to assume you have the best hand here with top pair top kicker. Lots of other hands and draws you are likely going to have to fade. If i have the biggest stack of all the all ins covered by 35 - 40 BB or more - and i hold the K of clubs, yeah i call in that spot. I got top top and a backdoor draw to the nut flush.

But with that many all ins your hand is likely no good there and if it IS good on the flop, your equity is severely reduced with that many players.

For instance, your AK with no clubs in it is only about a 63% favorite over that Q hi flush draw...so you are losing 37% of the time to that one hand alone.

Then if i add 3 other fish to the same flop with a range of about 35% of hands or so your equity takes a massive hit and you are only 37% to win the hand even if you are ahead while your fishy friend with the Q hi flush draw and runner runner straight draw barely loses any equity at all and is still 35 % to win the hand.

For me in that spot, i fold and laugh at all the donks...let the king of the group knock the others out, then they will feed me as the game goes on because i will catch them with a better hand.

It seems that you selected your game correctly.
If you are playing with standard players, this is a fold. Usually naked pair is not good in a multiway all-in because there is always some players that show up with two pair set kinda hand BUT you should pay attention to your field of play. If you are playing with bunch of fishes, it is criminal to fold top pair top kicker because their range is really wide. They shove with AQ, AJ, Straight draw or flush draw.
Heads up, snap it (usually)
3-bet pre specially when playing with fishes so you don’t face a crappy situation

I agree! So much depends on the type of game/type of players, and also on your goal:

  • to double up early or be happy with an early bust;
  • or to go the distance and just try to make it ITM.

Yes. If it’s in rebuy tourney snap it
On the money bubble, fold
Bounty tourney call

Also depends on chip distribution. If you are covering everyone call and you can be sure that you are winning a side pot

But most important factor is the field.
If VPIP of Villain is higher than 50 (aka major fish) call it almost always.
If VPIP is less than 10 always fold because they almost never show up with naked pair to a multiway all in.
VPIP 40 I almost alway still call and fold only ICM pressure is huge.
VPIP 10-37, 38 call if you need a double up and most of the time fold

Here, I have you my cheat sheet. Now, you can easily beat me in poker [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

for my point of view it is not a bad blow. and I would not have called preflop either.already with that flop is to start a project like the one that had or until set.likewise I would have done the same as you

Yeah I most likely would of folded.... Daniel Negreanu had a good quote saying "I would go all in with AK but not call a all in with it"

It's a tough spot and ones you face quite a lot in MTTs where players put their whole stacks on the line chasing draws. I probably would've gone bust here too but all you can say is you got all the money in with the best hand, you just got out drawn :)

Iv'e been hurt alot with AK and AJ. i tread carefully and make sure i don't get married to those hands. Yes i would shove all in depending on the situation, but i would not call unless my stack would not be that much affected.
