Not trying to brag or anything, but I used to be such a good player but I'm not sure if I still am, I think I've "lost it" but I just can't figure out what I'm doing differently now than I did before. When I played live poker (I usually only play online now), all my friends would say I'm really good. When I first started online poker I was growing my BR immedietly. Then for the next few months I was making so much money, more than if I were to work a parttime job instead. But now I am struggling to play for a day where I can stay even. On a good day I'll turn a tiny profit. I used to consider myself an above average player or a well above average player but now I consider myself about average. What am I doing wrong?!?!? I've taken breaks, I've read poker books, but it just seems like I "lost it".

You may recall a term called Varience? That was my first thought. Second thought is simply starting hand selection. Has it changed over the time you were away? Just remember patience and position especially in NL are key. Hope this helps? Good luck and maybe we will see ya on the CC events. Oh, Welcome back to our forum sir!-Pool

well, i hate to brake it to you, but there's a chance that you were never good. playing online is harder than playing live, especially a home game with your friends, where you'll find the lowest poker skill. You might have just been getting lucky to build your online bankroll in the first place. In saying this, you could be a very good poker player who is going through a run of bad cards and bad beats. If this is the case just play smart tight poker and dont go on tilt because guys are sucking out on you.

And.. if you were winning with your friends it shows potential. Start posting your hands here and let some help advise you. CC is great for help on your game. You could be back on it in no time.

Have you got yourself a copy of PokerTracker or started keeping some other sort of records? It'd be a massive aid for identifying leaks in your game.
