Why do so many people sit there after a bad beat or bad play and rant, cuss, and berate the other person like a complete spoiled brat. Sitting there and hurling insults at another person, knowing that we all have calls or situations, like this in our pasts. If you have played perfect every hand of your poker life, well good for you, go win the Main Event then Mr. Hellmuth. For the rest of us JUST SHUT UP and suck it up like the rest of us. Bad beats happen, donks win, that is poker. In fact that is life. Please stop whining on the chats at the table.

Move up, imo.

At high enough stakes, people don't berate the fishes.

Yeah, i go nuts at people in the chat but i only do it when someones been sat there putting the fish down and calling him all sorts and then said fish leaves, this annoys the hell out of me, half the time you then see the offender go and donk off his chips too, it's the circle of life, good players know that fish are needed in a game and won't berate them to the point that they leave.

Happens in high stakes games too. Just look at Phil Helmuth, Mike Madisow, Scotty Nyguen, and a bunch of others. But online, it's way out of control. How about when you put a bad beat on someone and he goes beserk, and you get a little "feud" going. Then either he wins a big pot from you or busts you - (Don't you hate that?!!!) or you win a big pot or bust him - (Don't you just love that?!!!!). Sometimes it makes it interesting!

hiding behind thier monitor in thier jammies makes them bigger tuffer and braver then they would be in life sitting across the table from you. consider the source.

exactly, you have the freedom of saying whatever you want and you wont get thrown out or popped in the face. In my earlier years playing online i definately would talk a lot. The more i played though the less i chatted, the less i even paid attention to it. Ive now gone through a whole tournament without saying anything, it really is just a distraction regardless of the kind of banter it is. I actually love it when people explode when they catch a bad beat, or just lose in general, anyone who does that is pretty much a bad player; if youve played poker long enough a bad beat or some cold cards shouldnt phase you, let alone merrit a curse filled rant.

I think most people agree that it's better to take your lumps quiet and let your game speak for itself. More and more however, i have seen interviews with some of these tards that claim it's "part of their game" to make people feel uncomfortable and therefore out of their game. I just ignore them in the chat and in real life do my best to either ignore them or lure them into saying things to get them penalized or even ejected. Now THAT is fun to watch!!!

Well since I've never seen that kind of behavior in a live game ( except on T.V "Hellmuth" just to name one ) I guess having that computer screen as a safety net is the biggest reason I can think of .

I agree that after the fact, ie donk/fish gets knocked out, then to hang around name calling and heckling is just rude and bad gamesmanship.

On the other hand if the loudmouth donk/fish, starts calling other players and isn't out, it's great to knock the loudmouth out and you become table hero.

Not just in poker (but obviously it applies in this forum) but the whole bitching at people online thing is stupid all together. Think of dialing some random number and then talking shit to the person on the other end, just no point. Funny, I dont see much of this happening at the card rooms around here, wonder why that is.....

I remember seeing this just yesterday, the flop was 10, 9h, 5h
and one guy was holding QhJh and another was holding A10, they got all-in on the flop, and on the river came an 8, giving the QhJh its straight.
The guy starts going absouletly crazy, saying a number of explicit terms.
Actually, the funny thing is that the QhJh was an 83 percent favorite to hit.
