I have been playing solely MTT (and some sngs on the side). Recently however, I have begun to lose patience with myself playing MTT and end up getting out on bad plays on my part. Anyone have any advise on what one can do to regain their patience and concentration?

IMO, the only one who can help you is you.
But the best advice I can give you is, if you find yourself consistently growing impatient when playing MTTs, may I suggest taking notes on the players at the table when not in a hand, like physical pencil and paper notes.
This way you can still pay attention to the game while fighting off boredom.
I use a HUD when playing so no paper and pencil for me.
But I do read and post here and also look for pics for my blog while I play to fight boredom, as a matter of fact, I'm playing a ring game as i type this.

shinedown is right, note taking is a great way to keep your head in the game. also once in awhile, try to play just one tourny at a time. watch every hand and study the way people play. you will learn some things about the players at your table, and play better because of it.

If you are playing all day every day, take a day or two off to just relax. If you need to play something, go to Yahoo and play go fish or something else totally different to clear your head.

Patience in my opinion is the key to MTTS...Your'e not playing about 80% of the hands so you need something to keep buzy.

I usually set my self mini goals in an MTT.

Depending on how large the MTT is I set goals for my self.

Make it to the first Break
Make it to the second break ETC
How far away am I from average stack
Where am I in relatation to the bubble
What will the bubble's chip stack be?
Make it to the final table.
What's my stack size compared to the final table

This keeps me busy besides taking notes on opponets

i dont think everyone is able to pay 100% attention to the players and the game every time they play MTT online. Playing online is sometimes so repeatable that one can really get bored unless you really love the game and you are one of the obsessed players (like most of us when we just start playing Poker). I would say find yourself new things to learn.. Observe one particular player and how he plays, either the chip leader on your table or the guy to your left... Things like that keep you focused on the game.. maybe decide to go over every previous hand the table was just involved in if you are not involved in the current hand.. Start a conversation with someone about poker , maybe you can learn something about your opponents... Look at the leaderboard and see who is on top, open up their table and see how he plays.. maybe you`ll end up playing HU with him.. :) find something to do... just dont start watching tv or something, because then you are totaly not paying attention to the table and then when you get QQ and you raise and someone from cutoff 3bets you but you have not been pain attention that this guy has been doing it for a while to other players you wont know what to do... Unless you are using HUD then you dont need to pay that much attention to know something about that guy... but basically try to play the game... If you are boread constantly dont even play the MTT, how do you expect to win a tournament if you arent really feeling like playing? Change the game.. play Cash games instead....

In addition to some of the good ideas mentioned above, try listening to some chillout music (nothing too heavy). I find that has a good calming and relaxing influence during long tournies.

You must be patient in tourneys. Remember that on average the top players are only playing between 12% and 15% of hands. That is around 1 in 8. Watch the other players and how they play and try and pick up on their syle of play. It is not as easy as in live play but there are lots of give aways to be picked up.

I would multi-table - it keeps you from playing marginal hands out of boredom.

I have run into this myself. It is usually when I am playing too much/too often. It helps to take a break and only play again when you can start out in the right patient mindset.
