Hi guys, this is my 1st post but I've been reading the forum nonstop for the last 3 days.

Just had a little success today:)

I won $22USD, I placed 30th in a 550man $5.50 tournament over at Poker Everest.

Day 1# deposited $20
Day 2# went down to $8.50 but ended up at $20
Day 3# Currently at $45

I use to play at party poker a couple times a year...blew quite a lot and played more for fun, but since using Poker Everest, I've had some luck and now I can see this becoming a nice income stream if I keep it up.

I've gotten a lot better at reading other players and knowing what cards to play, and I fold a lot more and I bet bigger when I have good cards preflop and I use to never play straight cards like -5-6etc,,,but if the price is right, I'll sometimes bite and see what comes up in the flop.

I'm still a newbie and have a lot to learn but yeah I'm liking online poker:D

nice 1st post :)

sounds like your on the correct path, but you might want to play within your bankroll. You did good to double it , but at those stakes you don't have much room for the obvious times you will not win . Just my opinion I know it's tough to grind it out at the lower stakes , but it beats having to deposit again & again :)
Good Luck to you & welcome to Cardschat:)

Thanks for the welcome:)

Yeah I have been playing lower stakes like 5-10 cent Limit sit and go's and I win and lose a few bucks here and there (but wim more), and decided to play my first paid tournament and won the $22.

The tournament was NL, but I prefer Limit games because you don't lose so much and you dont have idiots going All In, sometimes just coz there angry, its seems to risky for me.

So what do you suggest I do wit my winnings to increase my bankroll? Should I use it to play more tournaments at the same $5.50 price?

Welcome ...
You have a good start, and have to be perseverent, but take care ...
With that stack, maybe playing $5 tourneys is not the best way (my opinion) as in the case you lost more than 2, you will have no money remaining to try back ...

In general, there are some strategy for defining which buy in tourneys play based on your bankroll ( for tourney and for cash tables :) )

Congrats, good way to come back. Just one piece of advice, if you want to take it. With a $20 Bankroll, a $5.50 seems a bit over your BR. with $20, I would suggest starting at 1.10 SNG's or .05-.10 games. Just my 2 cents.

$5.50 Buy In out of $20 is not good BRM, think this is one of the most important things to learn.
