Hi guys, I just finished a 16-hour cashgame session at the micro stakes. First time I played that long :) Not like I felt the necessity to play that long, but it was just one good spot after the other, couldn't resist. Now the last fish has cleared and I can hit my bed.

How long was your longest online session?

Probably around 12-16 hours i don't keep track. I know live poker i like to stick around for 9-12 hours would stay longer but the action dies down late at night.

When I was addicted to this game in the early stages of learning poker, I couldn't get enough of it and many a time over the weekends I would go 24 hours straight. My longest stint was about 28 hours and was wiped out for the next couple of days, I wouldn't advise it to anyone though.

Back on the track now :) Can't say I'm really tired, but I had a good solid sleep. Also I do a lot of sports and eat healthy, I think that benefits to that. Peace

I played up to 8 tables NL10 & NL20, but switch tables a lot, constantly looking for good spots. I made about 180 dollar that session, with slightly higher EV.

But the result is less important to me, the most important thing is that I never played for so long quite solid and I actually enjoyed it. That's something to build on for the future :)

I set myself a challenge to try and increase as much as possible and ended up doing 26 hours straight at the micro fixed limit cash games 24 tabling where possible (There's not always enough tables available). I wouldn't recommend this to anyone as I could barely hold the mouse the day after

I once played 2 tournaments back to back- the one I finished in top100 of over 2000 and it was 7-8 hours and next one I made it to last 3 tables of 1500 and it lasted about 9-10 hrs.

Yeah, last hour is for me too very hard, not really to fall asleep but to see the cards double :)
Did long sessions for three days in a row now, with solid results, but going to have a day off now. It's not that I don't feel like playing, but my right shoulder hurts like hell! Probably of clicking buttons so much :p

Do you also have sour shoulder (more like the back of the shoulder) after long sessions? Is there any remedy? I think I'll have to learn to click with left hand, to release the pressure on my right shoulder.

My ergonomy is good btw; I have good office chair, good table, two screens.

Peace!

The day that I spend most time playing poker it's Saturday. I begin at 13H WET and finish, depending of course how the tournaments runs, for about 01H WET.

In your case, I think you did right: when the spots are good one after other we should enjoy that moments.

The whole 3 days seen I quit with 250 dollar profit. Third day (yesterday) I started 320 profit, but yesterdaynight was on a bit of a downswing suddenly, so I didn't play until the morning. The mindset was off, so I thought it was better to quit. Today I have the whole day planned with no poker, watching football with friends, etc. And from tomorrow back on the grind :)

But do any of you also have sour in their right back shoulder after playing long sessions? I'm pretty sure it's of playing poker. I try to sit up straight as much as possible always and have a good chair, so I don't know what I can do to prevent it.

Stretch , make sure you take small breaks , being seated for very long periods of time is rough on everyone's body no matter what kind of shape you are in . I find it best to at least get up every hour and stretch / move around the house , inactivity is one of the roughest things on the body !

@PershingSt: Thanks for the advice , I do take breaks, lifting weights and stretch, but not every hour. More like every 3/4 hours... Problem is that it's hard to take a break when you have several tables with position on fishy players with big stacks :)

@Weenie: Not pro at all. Since november my contract of my job finished and in between jobs I want to make some money poker. I played already before but never so intensive.
