I've only been playing about 6 months and I have noticed that sometimes I will get a higher percentage of solid cards.

The longest I think I have experienced this is about an hour.

What is the longest streak you've had where you felt you were getting good cards?

For more clarification: Assume you are seeing 15%-20% of the flops, but for a while you are up to 25-30% because you are getting solid hole cards.

Or on the flip side, what is the longest period where you were not getting solid hands? Say for instance, you were only getting anything solid every 10-15 hands.

I do not have such clear statistics, and I play a draw in tournaments, but I noticed that sometimes it happens that in two to five days I rarely get good cards.

Just last night I say card dead in a tournament for over an hour. No pocket pairs. No playable connectors. Nothing. I was just ground down by the blind and eventually got it in with A9s for a few blinds and busted. On the flip side, a tournament or two later I squeeked into the final table of a tournament by only winning 3-4 big pots over the course of two hours. I was the shortest stack at the table with the chip lead well over 10x my stack. Then I got hot. AK>AQ AA>QQ AJs>KK. I could not be stopped. Within another hour I was heads up with a 2x chip lead and eventually binked it. It was actually the best I've ever played heads up. No coolers except for the final hand but he was down to 4bb and I had like 35bb KK>QQ.

Yes

Yes, that is a long run for good hole cards. I have played entire tournaments and not seen a good starting hand. Not fun at all when that happens.

Guess I never noticed as far as time goes. Sometimes its not always the card you're dealt to get into a hand.

It is much better to start cold and finish hot. I've had plenty starting hot then going cold. It's very frustrating indeed! Thanks for sharing.

Do you play a lot of turbo tournaments? Do you play live or online?

I've noticed that some tournaments have blinds that go up so quick, you have an hour before the starting chip stack is close to 10BB.

I've started to learn that it's not the cards you get, it's how you play them.

Were you questioning your play style after you started losing? I understand that it will happen to some people after a long losing streak.

Encouraging to hear these fluctuations. I hv played 3 years. I sometimes place. last 4 online tournies were dissappointing. Hopefully things will look up in the long run.

I sometimes have such that my card plays perfectly in the tournament and in the cache game all day and I'll win it perfectly, well, basically or the card comes in good and does not play or does not come at all!

How long have you been playing poker? Have you had any winning streaks?

One week ago or more I dealt AA 3 times in a row on partypoker. I really can't keep track to answer your questions but I think this is something weird! Weird and super wow :p

if you count the pokerstar this does not apply, I already took so much bed, that I lost the accounts. Enough of the rage, there are those times that you even have a strong hand, but lose wins kkkkkkkkk

Every now and then I play on the electronic tables at my local casino. A guy there says that he was once dealt NINE pairs of Aces in one tournament.

One time I had two pair of aces in a row. I have noticed sometimes you will have good cards for a while and then you will get bad cards for a while and this will be repeated again and again it has happened to me a lot of times mainly in tournaments.

This happens rarely, and then for a short time, when it was well remembered for half an hour, the game gave 3 times AA and twice KK and QQ twice.

during the rebuy period of a ten dollar bar tournament i go KK, QQ, JJ and 10/10 IIRC. i won all those hands. so that means i played 4 top pairs within the first two circles...16 hands? i had a few ace/big hands i dont recall which i played but i had to have lost some since i was big stack but not outrageously so. on the last hand before rebuy was over i look down at pocket AA in the blind and in front of me is an all in from first position, second position reraises all in, 4th or 5th calls, and the guy beside me calls. so AA with 4 all ins in front....and i called of course and bagged it. i was superstack, they all rebought and i ended up winning the thing for (at the time) my biggest score.

also on a freeroll the other day i was given AKo 4 times in a row.

That is amazing. It must have felt great! How long ago was that? How much did you win?

2 years or so, it was a 10 dollar tournament with rebuys, started with two tables so....idk 300 bucks total to split so maybe i got 100-150?

my real biggest score was not due to hole cards but drunk opponents when i turned 50 in cash into 400 by taking every dollar off every player of a 6 man table haha.

Personally, I’ve been card dead all week. I’m close to 15,000 hands where I can’t win to save my life. We all know it’s temporary, but for now I’m stuck dreaming of that above normal run of good cards.
