So last night i played in the usa freeroll on full tilt and finished 8th. (Now i happen to cash 3 days after i first deposit) Tourney started at 8 and i was knocked out at 2:30am. Needless to say it took a while as i expected. It was also of course a freerolll so the payout was small, but not the point here.

Just wondering what the longest tourneys some other people had played in and what the outcome ended up being. It wasn't so much the length that was so long is was more the ending at 2:30 when i had to be up at 6:30.

This coupled with my cash in the daily doller the day before puts me at $10.50 between the two for about .50 hour profit. Its more about the fun of the game though than the money obviously.

You did well,
Got 0.60 for 2 hour yesterday lol...
Also sometimes 3 hours play, not ITM...

And yes, you have to play the FR's for fun, because you need to get in top 3 for a well profit...Not looking at $500 FR's offcourse...

right on, i played in that game to yesterday, i think i placed 20th or something can't remember ,but the longest tourny for me was pokerstars freerolls or bodog with like anywhere between 9000-12000 people made it into the money but can take more then 4 hrs and thats with like 80-200 players left, one time i played for more then 5 hrs once ko with 1.25 :D

I could be mistaken, but I don't believe PS has freerolls where 12,000 people make it ITM, even on a 20% payout structure, that would be 60,000 people in the freeroll.

Back on the subject, the longest one I have played was the Daily Dollar on FT a while ago and it was 8 hours... and in my opinion, it wasn't worth it even though I did turn my $1 into quite a larger amount, I would rather play a bigger buy-in and not deal with all of the idiots in the Daily Dollar... every time I play it, I regret it just because of that, whether I make the money or not, lol

Awhile back pokerstars had event qualifying tourneys where the winner of each table advanced to the next round against the other table winners, this format continued until I think only 10 players remained. The tourney I played took over 6 hours, but to make it harder if you won your table you might need to wait an hour or so for the other tables to finish before the start of the next round.

Last week I participated in a 50K tourny (through freeroll satelite).
I dropped out after 3 hours, but the tourny lasted more than 10 hours.
Thats why I dont like "deep stack" big tournys.

I have never played a tourney like that, but I like the concept. So it is kind of like a Step tournament, you have to win the whole table to proceed, sounds like fun.

I was tiiiired, but I did a pretty well job, so it helps to keep the eyes opened :D

I played the same tourny last night (Stars) placed 10th started at 3:00P got knocked out at midnight payout was $95.00. I still havn't decided if it was worth the time I put in, I can make the same amout playing 4 hours of $16 turbo SnGs (at least on a good night).

I also played in that USA fr and have been for the last few days or so, they are extremely long but so are most fr, but I myself havent cashed out yet on the usa one

i do have to say that 6hours for anything less than a dollar always pisses me off but o well its part of playing fr

I have played fr that I wasnt knocked out until like 8 hrs later and only ended up with a few bux, but at the time my br was empty so I was desperate

dont play in games where u know u've gotta b up in a few hours or u have to go do sumthing. Ur only jus gonna worry ur self/get tired and not play ur A game.
The longest session ive played in a MTT was online and it hit the 7hour mark. By that time ur ITM n it feels good to b rushin on adrenalin.

Some of those FR's put on by the big poker sites are terrible but if you don't have a BR and you have some time what else are you going to do. The big thing is to think of it as a lerning experience. Once you get past the all-in donks you can play some good poker and if your game is improving then the investment of time is more fruitful.

making the Final table in those 2700 player freerolls on FT takes time..., seven hours isnt unusual... and that is about the longest i have lasted...
Good to practice your patience...

I play a lot on Cake site. I won a ticket last week to play in the $1000 tourney on Sat and came in 6th and won $45. These games don't last nearly as long because there is a lot less players. Try one of the $1000 satelites and see how you like them.

I think my longest was when I won a $25,000 Guarantee on FT a few weeks ago. 1354 entrants, took about 7 hours, ending after 1am on a work night. Then again I seldom go to bed by that time anyway, but trouble was I was so amped up from winning it that I got about 2 hours of sleep before having to get up. It was worth it though. :)

I've since found that I'm more comfortable playing the mid-stakes 90-player turbo deepstack KO SnG's. I've cashed about $1000 in the last 2-3 weeks playing those, including a 1st place finish last night worth $300 including KO bounties. These last about 1.5 - 2 hours give or take. Not as profitable as a major MTT win, but not as grueling and the odds of cashing are better (for me).

The longest I've every played was in a national bar league (worldtavernpoker.com) where you play a 17 week season then the qualifiers for all the bars in your region play in a large regional. This year my region (Raleigh NC area) had around 400 qualifiers.

The game started @3:00pm and I busted out at 9:00PM around 60th place. 6 hours of f2f poker. I was beat. And I didn't qualify for the national tournament (top 30, so close!).

Play was very serious, Nationals are in Vegas or Atlantic City, Vegas this time around, and the Nationls finalists get seats at the wsop.

It was fun but grueling.
