Not that I don't enjoy playing online, but for me my entire incentive to play online is to have money to play live. I think playing online is a great way to learn how to play disciplined poker but playing live is exhilarating. I love sitting down at a table with people I've never met and trying to analyze their game. I love feeling the physical cards and peeling them up before each hand. Somehow it's as if all of my other problems go away for the few hours I'm in a live tournament. Love the environment especially, it's just really special. How do the two compare for you?

I prefer live poker myself. However the convenience factor makes online more appealing. And with the microstakes its easy to conserve a bankroll. Especially with the volatility you can expect in online play. Live poker just has a much different feel over all though. Everything from the pace of play to having the chips physically in front of you require you to be more tuned in in live play. I find myself easily get distracted in online play which often times activates my time bank and causes me to make decisions in haste that I would have to preferreed to have more time on. Both platforms have their so I can expect to be using both in all games

Live is always a rush for sure. What is nice about online is fast pace and the convenience. I can play live 20 minutes from my house at really nice poker room. Some have to travel pretty far for a game which limits how often they play. Online you can be in a game in 5 minutes.

I think it's even more enjoyable to play live poker, the game is much more patient, you looking at the player's reactions, his movements, facial expressions..

during a game of live poker you also get the pleasure of communication, analyze the players sitting at your table that allows you to recognize the bluff

I far prefer playing live. You just see a lot less hands which is the only bad part.

playing live poker is totally different from online because u can see the emotional reaction of your opponent and thus make your game

In both ways i'm playing the same. Doesn't really matter if its live or online. I'm playing online some small stakes, i'm learning a lot online, there are many tournaments going on i'm signing up and playing there learning improving my skills. When it comes to the live, i'm literally the different person i'm talking too much with people to see how they react whats their mindset situation. But in general online poker is a bit different from live. So you either choose play online high stakes or play live high stakes and focus on that game, ofc if you're a beginner, if you're pro player u can manage to play both and be on the top.
Good luck.

I prefer live for the social element but it’s definitely better to be at home playing online when you crash out of a tournament at 2am!

I find it harder to hold my composure in a live tournament. When I am home playing online, I am very vocal and animated, lots of cursing, some yelling, but I find I make better decisions, mostly I would say because I am reading the board better and making decisions based on bet sizing as opposed to live reads.

Live is much more social but it can get nasty with actual fights breaking out. Online you don't have this issue. Live is also much, much slower and a bad beat is much more galling. Online when you get a bad beat it's almost expected so you move onto the next game.

Well, here is the thing. In my country there are a few places to play live, I have never play a single table live. The few places here I have heard some bad things about the places, like "the dealer know some players and yu are going to lose your money" and things like that. I do not know if that is true but I will not take any chances, I hope some day go to a different country and try my game and luck :)

I play live a few weeks ago, i prefer the live tournaments too, i think the online knowledge can be excellent. It is a great feeling when you get information about someone from your body language. For me the only downside is that it takes too much time, but much weaker players than online :)

I learned how to play poker in online games.
I can say that I learned a lot about rules, bets, how much to bet and other important tips.
Of course I went to get some videos, conversations with friends and the other half reading a little about it and improving my learning in live tournaments with friends and also tournaments in clubs.
The sensations are different, the emotions very similar, but on the line is that the feeling of playing a real poker comes to the fore.
I like to play both modes.
I confess live is sensational, it's fantastic!

Live is better

Playing live with a dealer is better if he is honest. Seem like the on-line is programmed and not real most times. Everyone wishes to go Allin on-line and then is is just Bingo.

Keep playing.

Yeah microstakes make online a great place to start. Also I agree regarding focus. Playing live forces me to have all of my energy focused on each hand whereas in online I can fall into distraction.

My best results were playing Live. I already have 6 trophies, being 3 of champion, 2 of second place and one of third. But both, both live and online, need dedication, patience, knowing how to deal with the bads beats of life. The advantage of playing online is precisely fast games, because there are days that can not get from 6 to 12 hours playing direct.

The live game tends to be easier in most cases, but it has a problem that is the variance. Already in the online game you can put volume to overcome variance but will face many regs and sharks. The good part of online is that you evolve your game faster to be playing against good players and be able to analyze all your hands.

I like to play offline, purely for relaxation, because online it turns out to play better, because of more hands for one period of time.
But you can chat offline and look at people's reactions.
and online more math, which is not bad.

For me playing live is much better because it is more exciting to receive the cards, and before lifting them you think "Aces will play me this time?, The adrenaline in each hand you raise is the most perfect of poker, although I have only played a single tournament important, it was an unforgettable experience, although I did not get charged, I went happy, to move to day two, and according to my development of it.
