Live tournaments....

Hey,Im going to play in a big live tourney today in Dayton,OH.Ive only played in small live games and this one is pretty big.Its 60$ to buy in with a max of 3 rebuys for the first 80 minutes,rebuys are 25$.The tournament pays a guarenteed 10,000$ to the winner but you have to qualify for the finals by making the top 10% of the field in the qualifiers which Im going to today.Any tips on playing these big tourneys?Should I use shades?

I've never liked wearing sunglasses, so I wouldn't really recommend it.

Use shades if you think you will play better with them, but i dont think they make that much difference.
Im afraid i cant give you any tips for the tourney because i play no where near that level.

I dont think I will use shades.....never have in the smaller tournaments and did just fine.But like i said I havent played in any big tourneys.....I have played 55$ buy in sngs at the casino and always fair well in those.....think I will just go in and play tight and try to get some feel of how the players at my table are playing.

Enjoy yourself, play tight aggressive, stay focused and take advantage of oppourtunity's as they arise.

The main thing is learn something from every tournament you get into, I've played bunches and still pick up little lessons in everyone. A lot like any job or human endeavor the more you experiance the better you get.

I wear sunglass's when playing live but not because "they can't see my eyes", I wear them because I'm a character.

Actually, you should wear a ski mask. That would throw everyone at your table for a loop.

Well I made it in the top 20 in the qualifier....play tomorrow at 5pm for the 10,000.....had a good time.My girlfriend also made it in to the final.I was surprised at the competition really.Alot of what seemed to be bad players...seem like they were calling with every hand.

Well I my girlfriend and I played in the finals yesterday....I finished 41rst out of 233...didnt make the cash but had a great time.My girlfriend on the other hand finished 10th....won 350$.All in all a great time,we are thinking about playing the same tourney again next weekend.

Lol...no I didnt,went in there with my mohawk spiked lol
