So I play $1/$3 NL Live no problem profits are great. One question my local casino has "big games" on Wednesday Nights this is $5/$10NL I know I'm not rolled for it but the players who play on $5/$10 are the same old retired people who I normally take money from on $1/$3.

Should I be concerned about playing a little bit higher stakes with the same people?

I believe it would it be profitable as they don't change their game up EVER. I just would like a second opinion.

IMHO if you are printing money at $1/$2 and you see the same people sit down at $5/$10, print some money faster :)

I'm not going to lose anything except big and small blinds. lol... you would love to play against these old guys... A7 is HUGE to them!

Man I cleaned one of them out with this hand alone.

AA vs. A7 - Flop A77 - Turn 2 - River 3

The only concern is bankroll management. If your luck turns can you afford the hit? If they are so easy to be at the smaller dollar figures why not patiently build-up your bankroll, then move to the higher table?

What am I missing? If your opponent had the A7, he cleaned your clock.

That said, if it's really the same guys you beat regularly, well...no one 'plays better' just because the stakes are higher. I'd lay off the daily Starbucks Frappachinos, and play these as much as I can.

Since when does 7's full of Aces beat Aces full of 7's ... ... ;)

Poster had the pocket rockets. Only way SP could have lost was the case 7 on the turn or river.

This. It would be impossible to fold A7 with that flop.

Barry Greenstein thinks you should take a shot at that game, FWIW. And I wouldn't dare disagree with The Bear, he's much smarter and richer than I am.

If you're just taking a shot for two or three buy ins (assuming you're still rolled for your regular game if you lose those two or three buy ins) then I say what the hell.

I'm down with this, especially if you know its quite beatable. Usually when people take shots, they're not sure if it will be profitable. If you already know you have a big edge, then I'd be more inclined to take a big shot.

But take this into consideration as well, I TOLD him I had aces... whether or not he understood that I had 3 of them is another story

I would go for it, but you have to know if you afford the blow to the bankroll from variance.

I can withstand the blow but I'm way disciplined.

For the $1 - $3NL game I buy in for $240

2 Stacks of red ($5) $200
2 Stacks of white ($1) $40

I play Tight, not tight aggressive.

If my stack ever reaches below $180 I take off.

I will continue to play if I've made a profit of at least $100 after 1.5 hours, if not I leave.

If my white chips are starting to dwindle after making $100 in 1.5 hours or less I refill my whites (2 stacks $40) then if I lose those to blinds I take off.

Well actually my strategy for "on table BR management" is actually kind of really hard to explain on text.

Anyway from each win I start a new stack of chips and build them up and do my best not to play them unless I wake up with AKs, AQs, AA, KK, QQ, JJ then it's okay to dive into the red chips.

I allow myself to reraise 4x initial raiser with AA KK QQ

I allow myself to call 4x raise with JJ TT

I allow myself to call a 3x Raise with Pocket Pairs of 7 8 9

I allow myself to call a min raise or limp with pocket pairs of 2 - 6

Suited connectors can be played only if they meet these requirements:
1. There was no raise
2. Only Played on the button or 1 seat before the button.
3. Must be suited connectors that are capable of open ended straights. (ie: A2s cannot be played 23s is really iffy) 34 or higher

There's alot of other crazy things that I do in my head when I play, my own set rules and stuff. If I could actually put them into words maybe I could sell a book or something, I bet it would sell better than the "How many outs do you really have?" book.

Last night was very profitable and I only had to stick around for 2 hours lol.

Landed sets 5 out of 5 times

Woke up with AA KK AKs AQs too many times to count.

Out of those 5 sets i turned boats 3 times.

LMAOROFL It was awesome. Bought in for the minimum $500 made $1500 in profit.............. YAYAYAYAYYAYAYAYAYAYAY
