Im doing research on how players think during a hand or session in "live" poker. There are a ton of software for online gaming that shows you an opponents stats. But nothing like that can happen in live playing. My research is going to something that is "in development" for live players. Im hoping I can get some good information from you guys.

Imagine holding a pad and pen, and being able to just write notes on players (I understand some players do this, but this is frowned upon by some casinos).

What type of key points would you want to know about a player?

List as many as you'd like, but please be honest about what the key points would be when observing someone.

I appreciate everyone who helps out with this. If I get some good feedback, I will give some more information about this "development" for the live players that help out.

Thank You,
Jack

Well, I believe it's not hard to find the exact list of player types.
Of course the level of tightness they choose. How much do they bluff. In live poker, well it goes the same, but also I'd like to know his habits so that I could have to read him better.

What do you mean by habits? Can you be more specific?

Well for me I look at their tells (body ques), how aggressive they play and if they play in position etc and I keep in mind whether they play high cards or a mix if I end up seeing their cards.

Hard to tell, I think there are plenty. For example shaking hands when bluffing or something just something you can see in opp eyes when playing a big hand etc. But again it's hard as hell to read any player, personally I cannot tell how the pros are so good in reading bluffs.
