Hey guys, I play tournament home games every once in a while with my friends, but I have not been able to figure out a good starting chip stack or how quickly to advance the blinds. What works for you guys? We hand-shuffle, by the way.

how many hours a night do you want to play?
3.5 -4 hours is the normal where i play.
50-100 20mins.
100-200 "
150-300 "
break
300-600 "
600-1200 "
800-1600
1000-2000
break
1500-3000

I like pay structure by # of players. some by amount of total money.
10 players 3 places.
20 " 4 "
30 " 5 "

we also have 1 rebuy per table. $20
once a month we have a$10 tourney with unlimited rebuys
for the first 2 blinds. with 30 players the pot is around $1K.
of course you can do it any way you want, this is the norm for here.
we also have a point system and award prizes annualy. this year is a trip
to a major tourny at a casino.
have fun with your game

The bar league I play in has a starting stack of $6000 chips
(3 x 1000 - 3 x 500 - 9 x 100 - 9 x 50 - 8 x 25)

Blinds start at 25/50 and go up every 15 minutes (50/100 - 100/200 - 200/400 - 400/800 - 500/1000 (50) - 1000/2000 (100) - 2000/4000 (200)

They colour up the chips as we go (5000 chip gets introduced)

It usually has a field of 60-80 players and goes from 7:30pm - 12:00am and it is a freeze out format.
