I went this last weekend to play at the casino to play 1/2 nlhe and did really well. i am not sure if if played well or if i was just lucky but i did win $900. so i usually start out playing solid tight poker till i have enough money in front of me to loosen up and this is what i did. i won a couple of pots after about 2.5 hours and when i got my starting stack up to about 500 i started to play a little bit more loose. now this is the part when i am not sure if i am just lucky and playing bad. i started to call some pretty agressive players with hands that were connected and suited knowing that if my hands hit i would get paid good money. so one hand i had J3 of clubs and called a 12 raise with it and flopped top pair and the flush draw. someone bet out 25 and i raised to 80. i had the preflop raiser call me and the flop better folded. the turn made my flush and i checked it. he pushed for about 170 and i instacalled. he showed 45 of clubs drawing dead to my j high.
a couple hands later the same guy that was aggressive all night raised to 12 again. i called with Q3 of hearts and the flop was Q23. i check raised his 20 to 60 and he called to see another 3 on the turn. i looked disgusted and checked. he bet out again and i raised him all in. he called then insta mucked his hand like every other he played.
this happened with a couple other smaller pots and i never once seen what kind of cards he was playing with, but over all i think he dropped like 700/900 in like 1.5 hours.
if you do read this post let me know if i was just incredibly lucky and should change the way that i play when i start to have a stack or if i played the player like i wanted to.
