Personal music device... so you mean live?

Live, I don't use them - you just miss out on too much information. And it can be kinda irritating when people who do use them keep holding the game up to ask questions that they would've already known the answer to if they had've been paying attention. "Is that a call or a raise?" is the most common culprit - especially when I'm dealing, that one bugs me no end.

If they avoid that particular faux pas though, I don't really care what they're doing: in fact, if they want to pass up on free information then all the better.

Online is a different matter.

Yes, I meant live. I should have added that detail.

I've always listened to music because i'm normally a pretty tight player and sometimes it gets boring sitting there for hours on end and not finding a hand that meets your standards.

I guess it's a trade off for me to help quell the boredom.

If it's a chatty table I won't use it though.

I don't like missing out on the information being spewed by the fish around me. Maybe in one ear.

Online? Definitely.

Online, almost always

Live, usually not, once in a while but it's only in one ear if I do. I don't care at all if others want to listen to music but for example the other day someone was listening to music and we'd all be waiting for him to act and he didn't even realize it was his turn. So as long as they pay attention, I could care less if they listen to music. Didn't realize it said live though so I voted for yes, practically always listening to music online.

I'm in the live no, online yes catagory. Online only few key things to concentrate on like # hands played, who's aggressive/ passive, what hands they are agg/pass with, speed of response, etc. . Live there is copious amounts of info given freely by even players not in hands that to purposely miss this info is a decision to not play your best.

Live never. I much prefer chatting with the other people. Besides, without being able to look at mucked cards like you can online, it's important to listen to others while you aren't in the hand even. They will give you lots of clues about how they play.

Online 100% of the time

I almost always listen to music while playing. Makes things a little less boring for a TAG player like me.

Whether I listen to music live or online, it really all depends on my mood. If everyone else at my table (live) have the buds in, chances are they will not be talking as much, enabling me to listen to my music without many worries of missing out on information.
Like I said, it really depends on my mood. I love music a lot, but sometimes I just need peace and quiet in order to concentrate. Other times, I need a good pump up song to get me going.
