A lot of folxs seem to say that one should raise in position with good starting hands to weed out the players. In low limit games it seems that limping as often as possible is better as so many will call anything with any two cards. To see as many flops as possible and then pushing hard when your hands hit. It seems that in low limit games you just cannot run many folxs off their hands and they will see a flop no matter what the raise..Im wondering if you kind folxs here agree or think that one should raise pre-flop with good hands,,big pairs,,,A/K and so on???

A quote you'll often hear here is:

"Every time you limp the poker gods will kill a kitten - and it's your fault."

Stop limping until you learn when you have the right odds for set-mining or drawing.

Limping is basically asking opponents to take your money away.

I play 2/4 PL with very loose action and a lot of limpers. I always raise when I am first in the pot and usually every other time I am in as well. This does nothing to discourage my opponents and many many times my decent starting hands are beat. However I've been averaging 20bb/100 over my last 12k hands because I've learned to lay down the marginal hands and build the pot when I'm ahead.
Now having said that I'm a firm believer in Caro's idea that at a loose table you should look at more flops but you really need to be able to lay it down when your behind.
One of the benefits of raising is taking a harder look at your hole cards and asking yourself if they are worth raising with? If the answer is no then there's a very good chance they are not worth playing at all. The statistical chances of hitting a favourable flop are often so remote that your just throwing your chips away.
Having said that, knowledge about how your opponent(s) play can be vital. Also imdo, learning to feign weakness is a key component to drawing other players in. If you raise everytime your ahead only then you'll soon lose a lot of action.

As far as MTT's I would raise in pos with a good starting hand. However in low limit ring tables a lot of kids are real loose and will usually always see a flop unless its super expensive. I found that slow playing by limping allows for those kids who always see a flop to bluff me out of it. Then I hit em with a re-raise

The only time I limp is in a SnG or a MTT and I'm shortstacked. It's worth the risk to accumilate more chips. Other than that, usually when I limp I end up kicking myself

^^ I don't think this is a good idea - ESPECIALLY when shortstacked.

ill limp AA thats just about it

i learned my lesson on limping already but AA is alright i guess cause most the time it pays off better to get more people in the pot

but some ring games i ALWAYS limp and show weakness but i raise with AA, KK, QQ, JJ, 10s, AK. wont work for everyone but works fine for me

^^^This!!!
Just because everyone else at the table is doing it doesn't mean you should. If you wouldn't stay with your hand against a raise, or be willing to raise, don't limp!
