Is limit holdem dead for good?

I started out as a limit holdem player and really miss the action from a few years ago. It seems limit holdem is gone for good. Pretty sad, imo. Still my favorite form of poker.

It depends on your definition of Limit Poker. I play in Oklahoma and my definition of Limit Poker is 3-6 or 4-8. I did get in a 5-10 game at Winstar once. Limit games can be found at Firelake Grand Casino and Windstar near Dallas. They will even spread 4-8 PLO8 w a kill if you can get enough people.

I do realize that some people's definition of poker is 20-40 but I have never seen that high of a game in Oklahoma. I guess you may find it in Vegas.


If you play online you can probably find games on poker stars. I am in the USA so I don't know what they have lately but they used to. I just looked on America's Card Room and they had a few limit games going but they didn't have many people at the tables.

Poker Holdem Limit is very slow and boring, I personally do not like it!

With the way that Poker is being played right now, I think Limit Hold em is dead man, too slow for this new types of poker players.

Never played limit hold'em,but I read a lot of articles and many statements confirm this...

I don't like limit holdem.
Mainly, I prefer MTT NL Holdem.
Once upon a time, I played limit holdem but usually I was losing.

You can find live games and they can be a challenge to play. Played and watch some games in Vegas where people were stacking chips. I really enjoy the game, don't mind playing SnG or cash tables.

I dont like limit holden, but the game be dead is pretty sad, like you said

I agree. It gives you a great overview of the dynamics of the game, without risking too much.

Yep. It's Boring! So, He Don't Have A Chance With NL Holdem.

I also like limit hold'em. But every day there are fewer and fewer tables. Very sorry.

I would have to agree that limit holdem is becoming extinct. I learned to play on 2/4 limit and really had a good time.

I played limit hold'em and without a bad beat jackpot it was a dumb and boring game IMO. Pineapple is better variant...the thrill of Omaha with the legendary structure of NLH.

Not much strategy in limit holdem compared to no limit hard to defend your hand against any lousy draw

True, sometimes I ask myself this, because the tables are so empty, and lately there are few tournaments like that, and if there is still, in time that I do not see. The good of playing limit, and implementing a strategy is good sometimes.

NL Holdem is the only real game (separates the men from the boys!).

I liked the limit hold'em so that there even the crazy players could not go straight to all-in, you can calmly pick their chips during game

In my opinion in limit holdem you find more action, yes, the game isnt as fast as nl holdem. How can some kind of poker be dead? Less popular - yes, but dead- no. I like limit games, more options to see flop and you can be sure less (zero, because its imposible) all-in-preflop players are involved there. its good choice even for experienced players.

The big problem is it doesnt attract new players/fish so whenever you play it you are playing against a bunch of smarties and grinders. So profit is difficult.NL is def. more exciting too, there is no arguing that.

Artichoke Joes near san jose has 50+ limit games running all the time, and only have no limit on weekends.

a feeling when in one hand everything can happen from the departure to the chip stack! this limit holds hold'em and I consider it a boring game, but I can be wrong!
