This is more about live games than online poker. In a live game, you must necessarily lie with an innocent expression on your face to be a successful player. In online poker, you just need to be able to play your game.

If you watch high roller live games you will notice how they all just talk loads of trash and become as unpredictable as possible to confuse the opponent. Although lying shouldn't be overused because then you will just be obvious and they will be able to tell.

I think you have to be a good lier in online as in live. In online poker your actions have to make sense just like if you are a good lier your lines must make sense so you dont get caught. I dont think you have to be a good lier, you can probably öearn it over time but I definetly think good liers have an advantage in the beginning.

I'm not really trying to bluff in the online game, because Anyone will not regret their stack and agree, and this is the loss and recommendation of a "liar" - another time will not pass. Although sometimes I come across such liars, and I do not think that this time he is playing honestly and fall into this trap.

I wouldn't consider bluffing as being a liar per say, little strong of a word for me. But yes bluffing is an art and must be used to be successful in poker. You cannot be a fit or fold type player that see's the flop and if they did not catch a piece of it they fold to any type of flop bet.

Not a good aspiration for a lifestyle, I would just work on skill and knowing your opponents.

I don't like to think of it as lying maybe because I don't think I'm a good liar. I just try to think of it as employing different strategies in a game. Putting your opponent to the test. :)

I generally think that poker needs a brain and luck, but online poker still needs a strategy that changes and depends on the style of the opponent!

I think it's more important to hide your emotions than to lie and this also applies to poker bluffs.

I would think this matters more in a live setting.

I dislike the part of online play when people just "all in" cause they are bored with the game. Obviously they hit and win when people call them too right? ;)

I haven't played live recently. I use to play live as a teenager. But I really want to start playing live now that I have some theory to go on. I feel like I'm good at reading people and hopefully that can translate into poker well. :)

I think a liar would be a better poker player. Maybe that is why my game is nowhere near what it takes to be a stellar player.

It is not advisable to be a liar in poker because you can work maybe 1 or 2 or even 3 times but in 4 you are caught, and when a player grabs you in the lie, your game will difficult to lie to the players. I am at least not a liar in poker and I use it only sometimes and it is to protect my cards.

The control of the emotions makes you a liar, and if you are not in everyday life then you have to do it compulsorily in poker. My opinion, you do not necessarily have to be a liar, but in poker you have to know how to lie, but you will fail

If the truth is that you have to know when to lie and try not to do it because the most likely thing is that they will discover the game and win you.
