why is leaving right after winning frowned upon? thats the whole purpose of playing poker, and theres still other people the loser can get his chips back from, but for some reason he wants chips from the guy who took them.

Because they want the chance to win those chips back. It's more frustrating when the new player to the table that takes your seat buyins in the minimum.

Conversely, leaving right after losing is frowned upon because the other players want you to rebuy and tilt off many buyins.

Several pokersites (including stars) are also infested with shortstackers who double up and leave, and do it over 24 tables, over several limits. Its pretty bad tbh.

I see it all the time but I think it is a mistake once you felt a guy once and you know he's gunning for you to get even don't you have him right where you want him?

There is nothing wrong with leaving. It is your choice. I personally don't care as the people who do this tend to be weaker players and I will get the money back at some point.

Its called a hit and run... How would you feel if some one plays for five minutes wins a big hand and just leaves. Its not against the rules and they are well within their right to do it it is a cash game but its kinda like some one insulting you over the phone and hanging up before you can say something back lol

I have great respect for BlackRain.
But would add that it is probably a good strategy for these weaker players,
as they are probably the ones more likely to lose it all if they stayed.

When I had first started playing, these players bugged me a lot. After playing a few hundred thousand hands, I've realized that there's always another player ready to sit down and lose some money back to me. I guess it would bother me more live. But, I almost never see it live. I thought someone did it once, on a casino "cruise." Kid bought in, doubled up, and left after 20 minutes of play (complaining he was seasick). I figured he was just taking the money and running.

Later, I took a bathroom break and spotted him puking off the railing into the sea. Guess he really couldn't handle the motion.

Who leaves has only small winning sessions and big losing sessions, its very bad - why not let them do that...
