Hi guys,

Just thought I'd share a little something..

For the past week I have been on the worst possible run of my poker career, it's left me frustrated and depressed, i tried everything I possibly could to break the bad run but nothing worked!

People say 'take a few days off from poker' Fudge that!

That's like telling a bird not to fly!

Here's what I did:

I went to YouTube, and came across 'the Sam trickett story' a short documentary of a guy who in many ways is like me, the story was about how he went from nothing to a multi millionaire pro poker player. I then watched one about Luke Schwartz, Andrew Feldman.. (All British players, I'm British and felt it was so much easier to relate) - anyway all these pros, who came from nothing to multi millionaire pros, inspired me, like never before - I didn't search their strategies, I just got hungry for money.

After watching these short documentaries, I headed back to the tables, with a millionaire mindset, i didn't change anything other than my mindset and suddenly, things started to go my way, i couldn't lose and now my bankroll is looking so much healthier!

I know it's lame, but so far it's working for me, look up to the pros - don't study their moves, but study their personalities and mindsets!

Next time you go on a bad run, try reading up on variance. Once you get it you won't need to watch poker pro docs.

For some reason reading this triggered something in my head that I just want to get more and more money... I don't know if I've been brain washed or if it's just instincts to want more and more money..

Just the thought about money seems to induce a chemical reaction..

Next time you go on a bad run, try reading up on variance. Once you get it you won't need to watch poker pro docs.

I love documentaries (good ones anyway) so even after reading about variance he still might want to watch some =)

awww =( :( :( :(

OMG I'm a nerd

 :( :( Me too ='(

There are dodgy ones, they portray poker as a dirty underground gangster game - the ones I've come across are very inspiring

There's only so much you can read, I've read about every topic, and it frustrates me more, seeing people drive bentleys wearing rolexs and living the dream from poker just puts me in that frame of mind

Links to videos with this content may not be allowed even if they are poker videos..

However if they are allowed would you prefer super model type of ladies or grandmas?

if it works then keep doing it, but i think that what it changed was the swing or the luck (variance), i have sessions where i don´t win any, everytime i have kings is an ace, when have queens is a king, when hold aces is a set, and so on, an so on, but there are times where i´m in the other side, so i win with any two no matter which hand i have in front, so i believe more in swings, and what i have to learn is to maximize when i´m upswing the winnings and reduce lost when i´m downswing

mindset and confidence are huge elements in poker. Go ahead and search the definition of "intuition". The best players in the world have it. If you are confident and have a winning mindset (and the technical skills to support that mindset) then you will be victorious. Conversely, if you are highly skilled but depressed and unhealthy you will tilt, suffer downswings, and likely be a highly inconsistent poker player. What your talking about transcends variance, but it absolutely can help your game.

You can get inspired by not just poker pros but smart people at all. I would suggest you to look up for Richard Kiyosaki (even on facebook) and he's giving some nice motivational speeches for getting rich and etc etc. ! GL

If that's who I'm thinking it is (author of Rich dad poor dad) ehh I read his books and I'm pretty sure that it is made up. Also I remember seeing a thing on youtube that his seminar people tell people to try to take a million dollar loan from their bank or something like that lol.

I would recommend anything from Warren Buffet

Robert Kiyosaki is the author of Rich Dad Poor Dad, not Richard. My Dad gave me that book when I was 9, and I can say that I learned a lot from that book. His writing skill is not that good compared to other writers like Robert Ludlum, Og Mandino or Dale Carnegie just to name a few, but He delivered his messages very well, enough to be understood by everyone. Not only you can learn how to manage your finances in life from Robert but you can also learn a thing or two from him about Bankroll Management. ;)

Positive videos always can help - maybe not to win, but get back in normal form :)
