I'm doing a research project and am looking for an interview Chris Ferguson or Howard Lederer did about how most professional poker players ran good in the beginning and how there are probably talented people who happened to run bad in the beginning and so gave up when they shouldn't have. If any of you poker aficionados out there can point me to a source for that interview I'd be grateful.

Thanks!:)

Not going to happen. Even the mainstream poker media isn't able to get ahold of those two for an interview...

Tournament players? How poker players overextend their bankrolls. Some get lucky, most do not. I would dare say the almost all of the ones that do get lucky don't quit when they are ahead and go busto... Variance.

For what you're seeking I think Google is your friend. Also, I consider poker lore to be oft-told stories about the origin of the phrase "chip and a chair" or why A8 of spades is called "deadman's hand", rather than general concepts expressed in an interview.

Hey, I got my hopes up I was going to happen upon some Mississippi river boat gambler stories - so yeah. Not many players alive today would fit in the category of lore (certainly none who are ambulatory without assistance) - Doyle and Amarillo Slim of course can qualify.
