Wow!!!! no one has made a comment:(, does that mean everyone dosen't care one way or the other. Hmmmmmm I can see how this format changes how people play. If fact I am thinking of no longer playing this format. I love Holdem but not KO Holdem

I don't play in many home games, so I'm not sure how many are KO format. But I did play a bounty tournament at a casino one time, which was pretty fun. The prize pool ended up being pretty small, since a lot of the money was going to the bounties. What's most interesting is the winner would get his own bounty plus 2nd place's bounty. Kinda cool. If your play style is pretty aggressive then you'll get a little more incentive for getting all the chips in the middle a lot, that's probably about the only advantage to this kind of tournament. At least if you don't place high in the money you get a chance of making your buy-in back just alone in bounties.

Firstly I'm not sure what you mean, because in virtually all the tournaments I play in you are knocked out when you lose your chip stack

Secondly you haven't given my favourite choices (cake and bastard) as options in your poll, so your poll is declared invalid - and I vote for cake! :p

Knock knock

I lovek knock outs because you can make up your buy ins by knocking a few people out. One times i made 21 dollars in a knock out tourney. Usually i do well in knock out take more chances, to get that bounty.

Knockout tournaments do not really match my style as far as making big profit on bounties , I like to take it easy and make a slow to the FT.

You made my point. I think people playing these take more chances and play hand that maybe should be folded

I really like the KO's for one reason. Usually even if I don't win it's not that tought to break even. Play a lot of FT's KO tourneys, even won a few.

I like em. Gives you another chance to win some money (or points) Just wonder if the bounty means that the prize money has just been reduced to offset em though..

Well judging by how quickly the 90-player knockout sit and goes at Full Tilt are filling up at the moment, I would say that they are quite popular! Just signed up for one, let's see how much fun they are... :p

I like the knockout games because I rarely cash but can take advantage of getting the knock out money to cover the cost of the tournament

Use them as a Tool.

Knock out Tournaments are a great way to teach you aggression.
And you get paid to do it

Knocking other players out of the Game without getting knocked out yourself is not as easy as you may think.
It's a skill in itself.

Why not give it a try.
Add a new dimension to your game.

I enjoy bounty hunter tourneys or knockout's, It does chance peoples play somewhat and makes everyone more aggressive which if your bored folding all the time you can find yourself knocking people out with the dumbest of cards.

If you go to Full Tilt and click on TOURNAMENTS and ALL, at the top you will see some SNGs listed. One 90 Plr SNG is $3 + $0.30, one is $6 + $0.50, one is $11 + $1 and one is $24 + $2. These are all knockout tournaments where the top 9 players are paid, and you are also paid a bounty for each person that you take out.

As an example, in the one where you pay $3 + $0.30 to enter you would win $0.50 for each person that you knock out. So if you can knock 7 people out you have definitely made money, regardless of whether you finish in the top 9 or not.

They are alright sometimes. You can get a bit of your money back or more with a bunch of KO's. But because of the way people tend to play them, you are better off playing without the KO's. Someone is always willing to chase to get the KO no matter if it is 50 cents or a few bucks.
