Good blog! I love Katie Doziers style and grind etc.
The problem is, there are only a few competetive woman in the world.
It is more the nature of men, they fight and make competitions (also to get womens attention lol) since the beginning of all.
I would love to see more girls and woman in math, chess, poker etc. but where is the motivation?

Thanks very much for your nice comments lulu PK and Daniel72 .

I really hope that PokerStars reads the letter and that, if even in only a small way, it encourages them to put more of an emphasis on women in poker.

I spent longer writing (and re-writing) this blog post than any other post in the roughly 5 years I've had my blog-- so I am very glad to see that others feel as I do about my points in the post! :)

+1 on the post Katie, a great read and certainly a lot of strong points that Pokerstars certainly needs to give some focus and consideration.

I really appreciate that! Every bit of coverage helps a ton, because I do not want them to feel like they can ignore this. :)

I remember when there were five or six PS women pro members on Sunday women's.

The last couple of month is one or none.Another thing is that i do not see any PS women pro to identify with them.

The last two women pro that they sponsored is the Russian cash game player who does not speak English and the other one is the girlfriend of one of the PS online pro.Sry but i do not now there names.

We loose Vicky Coren that i respect very much and they give us someone's girlfriend to be our inspiration:(

I think that this is not the good way to attract other women to play and certainly not a good way to gain my respect.

I agree with the part about switching trny dates once they are posted as open for registration. That is wrong. All the stuff about women only stuff, i don't agree. Unless you are telling me that Men play poker way better than women, so they should have their own games. Then I guess I would say OK ,

If you do not agree whit whit all the women stuff .You should agree whit 50% sponsored women in poker.
And i would love to see tournaments whit 50% women on the field just for the pleasure to be equal.
But this is not happening,so let us have our tournament whit 100% of women it is
the only place where we are in the majority:flowers:

Ty for your comments.

I think a big part of why many people love to play poker is that it is such a social game. In my mind, women-only games have nothing to do with some kind of perceived handicap at skill, rather they are an opportunity to sit down with other women in a game normally dominated in numbers by men. I think that it is easy to feel like an odd-ball when playing poker as a woman, and being able to blend in a bit (in ladies events) as opposed to stand out massively (in mixed events) can make the work of learning a new game less intimidating and more fun from the beginning. :)

You are hot Katie. :)

I even read your blog now, good observation. If you ask me, I think the World would be a much better place if women lead us.

I think many online poker sites could learn alot from that blog post. I agree, that it isn't about women playing worse or better than men, it's about being among other women in a predominantly male environment. I'd love to see ladies only games on partypoker, I rarely see women on my tables in tourneys because we tend to be spaced among the tables which is such a shame. I love chatting while playing and guys seem to be so quiet which is another reason a female only game would be fun :(
Lets hope we get something like that, there seem to be alot of tourneys that exclude people on many other factors (UK only, certain forums, newbies only etc) we need more women to feel comfortable in the poker world, we are very few and far between.

Nice blog post Katie.

I'm a guy who plays a ton of live poker and yes, as a social game I'd love to have more women in poker.
