Whoo Hoo. Just earned my way into the PS Million Dollar Turbo Takedown. I stayed in the top 10 the entire way, but it was a bit of a roller coaster getting to the final table, but once at the final table all of the late stage SnG strategy worked like a charm. SO STOKED, i'd never be able to play in one of these at this point of my playing career without earning my entry.

Wish me luck.

I hope so too. I will feel more comfortable once I know how big the field is going to be. If it is 25,000, then it's pretty much a crap shoot. One thing that plays in my favor is that I prefer turbos over standard blind increases. One that that does not play in my favor is that I am relatively inexperienced in MTT's and have only begun to get adept to them through multi table SnG's. The next couple of weeks i'm going to spend a lot of time playing in micro stakes MTT's and multi table SnG's to get more comfortable with the format. I'm also going to do as much studying as possible in that time to prepare for this. Like I said, this is kind of a once in a lifetime thing for me. I know the entry is likely very small for most players, but for me it's a big deal (especially considering how much the money would help me right now given my medical issues). I'm going to make sure I go into this as fully prepared as possible, and hope for the best. Thanks for the support.

Yeah MTT's are different if you don't play them a lot. I've constantly played them, back from when I first downloaded stars on my mom's computer when I was in jr. high. (haha, my play wasn't quite the way it is now) So they seem to be my game of choice.

You seem to know your game pretty well though, so I think you'll do fine.

BTW, How's your BR challenge you've set for yourself coming along?

Nice dude!!! Good luck, your idea of grinding low level MTTs sounds like a good one for practice!

The BR challenge has been interesting.

As far as SnG's, i've done well. As I predicted, I have done well in the STT and the DoN. I predicted that because I have the most experience in those formats. I am cashing in about 60% of these, with an ROI at 39% In the multi table SnG"s, i've had some mixed results. I am consistently near the cash, but i've only broke through a couple of times. I have not had a high cash in the multi table SnG yet, just barely ITM a couple of times. I have a slightly -ROI in these, but I stay right at the point where once I get my first solid cash, I will be in +ROI. But, there isn't a large enough sample size for me yet to determine how I will do in the multi table.

Where I am having the issue however is in the ring games that I have mixed in. I generally do well in these, for about 40 minutes. I get ahead, and then it is like something in my mind tells me that I need to get more aggressive and I end up donking away a large portion of my stack. So, I need to do 2 things. First, I need to get my mind out of SnG mode when i'm at the cash tables. This is a problem that I have always had, and I am working very hard to fix this leak. It is getting better in time, but it is still a problem. The second thing that I need to do is learn to be satisfied with my winnings and walk away from the table when it's no longer profitable to me. Those 2 things are what have prevented me from being a winning player in the ring games.

Overall, i'm still +ROI, but it could be a lot better, and should become a lot better once I fix these leaks in my game and gain some more experience in these different formats. I'm up about $18 right now, but it could easily be twice that.

That said, it looks like I might be putting the challenge on hold, or at least slowing it down a little bit while I grind the micro MTT"s over the next couple of weeks.

Yeah I gotchya, putting it on hold is completely understandable. Gotta be prepared for the big tourney. It's good to know you've done well with it to this point though.

 WTG AceZWyID! Keeping my fingers, toes, & eyeballs crossed for you to take down the Final Table! Doing the same for your test results = neg. God/Higher Power/Universe/Flying Spaghetti Monster better hurry up though (on both issues)...having probs keyboarding with my eyeballs crossed...although this may be a more attractive look for moi :p.

Good Job and hoping for you to cash.

Just a quik question regarding your ring games. Are you setting yourself limits when you are playing them?

Ring games is one of my bad areas so Ive done quite a bit of reading on them. In one of the threads here it is mentioned that you need to set limits as to when you going to leave the table ie sit down with $20 and leave when you hit $30 or after 40 minutes or whatever. It seem that you might benefit form this from your post... Possibly set yourself a timelimit of 40 mins and then leave.

Anyways all the best

Ill give you a few hints since I play the turbo take down every month and have won quite a bit from it, the biggest one been for $1000.

you do have to get lucky but its not as hard as you think if 5000 players get paid then 1/5 of the runners will get paid. I hope to be one of these as I have an ongoing successive cash record to maintain and want to keep getting those bonus. the bubble usually though not always bursts when binds are around 500-1000 give or take a level or two either way. when your less then 1000 places of if you are short stacked or less then 20bb wait until your full time has been used but do not use your time bank, fold or raise the second before your time bank is been used. do this every hand you play as well. you want to save your time bank till 200ish payers left before bubble bursts so 5200 players etc. the player base drops pretty quickly so its not as hard to cash as you may think.
