Hey Yall,

Let me start by sayin thanks for takin the time to check this out. I've been playin poker with friends and family my whole life but nothin serious just somethin to do and get trashed together. Anyways I'm a rookie online for sure and have recently become unemployed do to none other then YEP u guessed it the economy.
At any rate I figured what better time to sharpen up my skills online. I've been playin ring games and sit n gos when I have time for a year. For the last week Ive been tryin to play at least 6 hours a day in every freeroll and grindin it out on ten cent tables and tourneys. I've already read several of ur threads on odds and what not, but what would u suggest readin to most help the transition from live to online, as well as just improve my game all around . I'm also a rookie here of course so sorry if the post isnt all that. As I figure out the whole screen shot thing and some of the things u all do round here hopefully they will get better.:D :joyman:

Well first of all. Welcome to the team.

There is so much that you can read. I don't even know where to start.

Try going to the "general poker" thread.

This will show you almost everything that you need to know about online poker.

You will see it on the right hand side when you click on "new posts".

Peace.

First of all I'd like to wish you best of luck in finding a new day job. It can take quite a while to actually start generating some income from the online winnings. But while you are home, I have one word to describe what you are looking for - "practice". I started playing online a few years back and I strongly believe that the more you play the better you will become, because of the thousands of scenarious you get to play through...so practice, practice, practice....oh, regarding the online games, you should always keep in mind that the freeroll tables are very different from the real money games....

Just try to look for any information that you think would help your game, and read read read.
If you don't multitable, learn how to do that well. Try to decide exactly what style you are going to play and how you are going to exploit opponents. Also Holdem Manager is the bomb if you don't already use a HUD, makes it super easy to find the fish and the sharks.

You need this e-book by Ryan Fee.

This is a great place to start. Excellent material by a successful player.

I enjoyed the preface on that one thanks Mase. I'll Have to get the whole thing and read it. As for Holdem Manager I dont have, or know where to get it for that matter, but I will certainly google it when I'm done here and see what you are talkin about. Like I said i'm new to all this online stuff so thanks to everyones patience with me and posts.
