Some one has logged into my account and has transfered or played with my account with a few million play chips which is just a small percent of what I have.

I was playing on pokerstars last night with a group of my friends and to my surprise one of my friends was telling the same story when I first sat on the table. We both emailed support and I am waiting for the reply.

I know this is just play money and I have real money in my account that they did not touch ! which makes me believe this is someone from Pokerstars that only can play for play money because they work at Pokerstars. I am a united states player so maybe thats why they decided to go ahead and take a few play chips. Who knows :)

The bottom line is that someone broke into my account. So be careful everyone .pay attention to your money and play money.

It may be someone from US because they can't play for real money either.
By the way it's still OK for US players to keep real money in pokerstars account not withdrawing?

I agree with pokerchris. It is far more likely that it was someone from the U.S., perhaps even somebody that you know, who logged in to your account. It is an incredible coincidence that two friends had their accounts cracked at the same time. Do you type in your password everytime that you log in to your Pokerstars account or do you have it saved on your computer? Have you logged in to your account recently from somebody else's computer?

I really doubt that a Pokerstars employee is responsible. Why risk instant termination just to play poker for play money? I am pretty sure that the player passwords are quite secure on Pokerstars' end and that, if an employee were to attempt to access them, it would leave a trail.

Check login history!

Good to see support getting used for important stuff like this! I hope they start a full investigation!

Yes, this makes alot of sense!!!
The bottom line is that someone broke into my account. So be careful everyone .pay attention to your money and play money.
I was just on my account a few moments ago & my bankroll seemed intact. I'm worried now though because I didn't check my play money balance so now I need to log back on there & see if I'm been fk'd with for my playchips (I just got them too... from a kind soul on CC who transferred them to me.... hmm.... wonder where they got them from? Maybe they work for Pokerstars & can see that I'm not a US player but actually use my playchip account for HomeGames League & feeling envious that I can still play for 'real money' they decided to screw me over by taking my playchips?!?!?! I guess I should first go check to see if I have any missing? Maybe I'll just write to support first?

Thanks for the 'headsup' warning about this. Just another really good reason that online poker should be regulated imo.

They will Lock the account down, then ask for ID and some other info, then will ask you to reset your password.

agreed ... Just letting people know when something like this comes up. Thats all.. I feel I have received good information on this site , So I feel that It's only polite to report this to cardschat members. Even though members with 12,000 post make one word posts that read "LOL" Still it's a good thing to post something like this.

I wouldn't go as far as it needs to be regulated because of my account being broken into. I just felt obligated to report this to this site that has helped me with some good knowledge about the game.

Pokerstars is all ready being investigated as we speak for many other reasons :)

Like the owner of cardschat said , It was stupid for pokerstars to do something that would give the fbi the rights to take action on them. So it's not far fetched that a pokerstars employee would do something as silly as playing with play chips on someones account. Like I said I am only reporting this to cardschat for the simple fact that I feel obligated to because I have learned so much from cardschat and this is something not of the norm.

So what age did your bitterness start at Orphice ? And what are the signs ? I want to be aware of it if it ever starts to surface with me. As of now I am free and clear of it. Thank goodness :)

In other news my monopoly money was stolen today. The thieves left a $100 US bill on the counter but took ~$15K of those rainbow colored dollars.

I forgot to mention that I think Parker Brothers are responsible for the break in! They're obviously just trying to get me to buy another. Sneaky bastards.

I have seen this issue show up on this forum numerous times now and I am still confused as to what the utility is of somebody hacking your account for play chips.

Regardless, it sounds like PokerStars web security is not that great. As with anything, change your password regularly and make sure you have security questions for your passwords set. Just be extra cautious about your account. If they are able to take play chips that easily, it won't be forever before somebody can take real money too.

Good luck out there, see you on the felt.

I was going to say, "what does this ^ have to do with OP's thread here?" Then I thought about it.... makes perfect sense to me now (very suitable imo). I concur on the 'storm in a teacup' part (a 'shyt storm')
