Hello! A lot of you may know me and a lot of you may not. My name is Jordan and I'm a regular around the forums (or at least I try to be). 5 years ago today I joined CC and it changed everything for me. The freerolls here helped me build my bankroll, the people here helped me learn the ins and outs of the game and gave mentored me as my game evolved and now it's time for me to give back a bit in honor of the occasion.

In the past 20 months I have made over 30k playing online tournaments with an ABI of about 20 dollars. Most of my results are untracked and the ABI is just a guesstimate on my part based on the games I've played.

My huge improvement came when I decided to take on a coach when I realized that I didn't know how to progress further in the game, so for that reason I'm offering 5 hours of free Mtt coaching to a member of cardschat who needs some help getting off the ground. Maybe you're stuck at the micros, maybe you can't beat 11's, or maybe you're stuck getting past 11's. It doesn't really matter to me, but if you're an eager student then I'm an eager teacher!

To be considered just comment in this thread and explain your history with tournaments, what you play, where you play, and why you think you need help. On November 30 I will pick a person from this thread!

I don't claim to be some sort of poker master or anything of the sort, but I have found a lot of success in the game as a recreational player and I think I can help other recreational players really increase their ROI for MTT's. Its free so there's nothing to lose! Happy posting

Hello Jordan!!

First of all, nice to meet you.
It is very kind of you, that you are willing to offer free advice to other members.
I would like to participate.

I joined CC in summer 2016 after hard changes in my life, when I had to somehow relax and stop thinking about certain things. At that time I didnt know I would become so interested in poker and in the forum.

Since becoming FRC member, I play the freerolls every day, right now trying to grind it on all sites available in my country. Even though I am college student, I wake up very early (usually 2:00am) to play some of the freerolls, because I want to become better.

I have taken online coaching from Doug Polk, but only the "smallest" one, because I have no more money which I could spend like this.

My main game is NLHE cash game, because I like deepstacked play, but I had an opportunity last weekend to take a shot in the 109$ Main Event Heavyweight on partypoker because I won the CC freeroll and received this ticket. I was running great, never been playing big tournament like this before, and after almost getting to the day 2, (2 hours left to advance, and I had very good stack [avg was about 200k and I had 300k]) I busted on AK vs 3d5d (!!!) going all in pre flop. You may think that this was very fishy play, and I shouldnt have gone all in with AK (which is true considering how deep I was), but I had a great read on the guy and knew he had absolutely nothing, as he was doing this preflop allin regularly with trash hands.

After that, I was really feeling bad. I had a shot to start my "poker career" and build my bankroll with just 1 tournament and I got screwed, mostly by myself, like this.

I would really appreciate the coaching and put it into use. I study poker theory a lot, but mostly cash games and this could help me improve my tournament game. You said you dont claim to be any sort of poker master - well, who can claim that? :) Its completely fine from me, as you are definitely a better tournament player than me, and that means I can learn new things from your words.

Thank you and good luck in your further poker career, and I wish you at least 5 more enjoyable years around here on CardsChat! :)

Well as of now it seems you are in pretty good shape as interest seems pretty limited [emoji23] always good to find fellow college students grinding it out. Nice to meet you and best of luck on the tables! Feel free to PM me if you have any questions as well. I'm always happy to help out especially since I was where you are grinding out freerolls like 4 years ago or so

I'm shocked that there hasn't been more interest in this.

I'll throw my hat in....

I am very capable of playing a strong game but rarely put in the effort. Play on instinct rather than math (although I think these instincts are based on strong math skills without actually consciously thinking about the odds).

I understand pot odds, ICM and fold equity. Stack size is the most important factor in my fold/shove/call decisions in tough tourney spots.

I'd like to be able to think about poker in more detail, actually quantify my decisions based on numbers rather than "let's try this and see what happens". I feel like I'm fumbling my way through most of the time.

I've never been coached before but am definitely teachable. I'm always willing to listen to someone that knows what they're talking about.

Thanks for the vote of confidence and for throwing your hat in the ring! Tournaments are a lot less complicated than people make them seem. There's a lot of common sense involved and I can definitely help out with developing a stronger theoretical understanding!

Hello Jordan,
My name is Hamza
I like your idea and I appreciate your initiative that gonna certainly change someone's poker career in this forum.
As a member I would to participate also hoping that you pick me :D
I joined the forum last year and I'm so glad to be a part of it , and I would like to improve my game on poker to profit of these opportunities that Cardschat gives because sometimes I win some $$ on freerolls but I don't know how to use it , and I struggle a lot to keep my bankroll out of danger but I ends up always running out of it, sometimes I do well on tournament with some deep runs but most of the time I bust early/middle stage , I think because my playing style is so weak and my knowledge on poker is very little . So I think with your guidance and experience, I can do better now and in the future.
Thank you for this opportunity and I wish you aswell all the best in your career and more success.

Hello JB!!

I'm very much interested as well & I'm applying.
I started poker not so long ago (around may/june this year) and after some hit n misses I switched mostly to cash games & have been moving up the stakes.
Much of the success is due to the commitment I've put into the game & trying to get better at it. And many thanks to the folks here at CC who has given me their utmost help & support. I take this moment to thanks 3 people in particular. Terry, Keith & Figaroo that has helped me immensely here at CC.
I've done one sweat session with Keith when I was starting 2NL & all the other advice, coaching has been done through CC. Also I've helped some upcoming 2NLers at CC to move up their journey.
Right now I'm playing 5NL 6max and focusing on the zoom pool at pokerstars atm. It is way tougher than the other sites and I'm having some set backs but still feel I have the edge over many 5NLers there.
You can find my cash journey here.
https://www.cardschat.com/forum/cash-games-11/alucards-cash-journal-5nl-10nl-350923/
https://www.cardschat.com/forum/cash-games-11/alucards-cash-journal-2nl-5nl-344527/

I have the goal & intention to move up to the higher stakes in cash games but due to the variance being a thing I have not much intention of making this my only thing in life in the future. I have the dreams & goals to move on to personal business venture. Thought I should make it clear.
But at the moment I'm very much focusing on poker at to get to higher stakes as quickly as possible. Keith has recommended me of joining a stable as well but at this moment there are some complications for it. So any thing free I'll sincerely accept.

I'm very interested in putting some time into the tournaments cause I've been wanting to do that for some time now but haven't moved on to it due to the goal of getting better at cash.
In the tournament division I've had not much luck tbh.
I try to skip the micro stakes tourneys as much as possible considering the payouts are smaller compared to the time & commitment you'll put into the game. Compare it with a good 5NL session and most of the time cash comes on top in my mind.
So I'm usually playing $4-$16 buy-in tourneys when I play.
For the $7+ ones I usually play a satty to get qualified. And I do decent in cashing those. But sadly have never gotten closer to the big amounts.

My biggest tourney cash(more of an achievement) has been at this year's PS WCOOP $11 6max. I sattyd in to that from just 60cents.
Became 105th out of over 9k players.
https://www.cardschat.com/forum/a-game-going-rail-requests-42/wcoop-38-l-6max-347031/

Apart from that most of the tourney stuff I've accomplished is here at CC freerolls.
I've won 2 out of the 3 Bet365 freerolls. Won one partypoker $109 ticket. A few FT finishes as well. Also playing the league here. And doing decent.
So when all is summarised I do okayish in smaller fields. But struggles a lot in medium to bigger fields. :D

I know you are younger than me (but not by much :p) but way more experienced. I've read some of your older posts & threads and what you've done is amazing & very inspiring.
I'm willing to dedicate time & effort into improving my game & am eager to learn from you.

Btw I'm from Sri Lanka. There's around a 12hour time difference but hope it'll be a great & happy experience for the both of us if you select me. :D

Thank You!

I'm afraid I would be of no help when it comes to cash games. I used to exclusively play cash and beat 25NL but got stuck at 50NL. Tournaments though I can definitely help and I appreciate what you said about my personal journey and I'm glad you found some inspiration in it. All the best! Feel free to PM me if you have any interesting tourney spots you want help with I'm always happy to take a look even outside of this season of giving

Thank you and that was my intention as well.
You are offering coaching for tourneys and that's what I'm applying for :)
I'm willing to put time & effort in to the tourneys.
Will definitely keep in touch.

Hi Dave,
I noticed this thread yesterday, and realized it is posted in a wrong sub-forum (Pokerstaking). Maybe this is the reason less of the members are aware of it, and could apply for the really pleasant coaching offer. Me personally, almost applied yesterday, but something else arise. Now I see there are people with much more free time that me! Good luck mates here and elsewhere in life!

I do not. I understand how to use one and the benefits and can help people understand their HUD numbers and what they mean but I've found my success without one personally.

Thanks. Just trying to understand better. Does that mean that you don't rely much on other player's long-term history so much as what you're seeing in the moment, at the table you're at?

I have a bit of a photographic memory so i don't forget history. I take notes on the really good players in critical spots but the game is entirely situational and that's my approach to the game for the most part.

I can coach anywhere! I don't play ACR as it's considered the hardest site and it's a reg fest for the most part and I only have a Mac but if people were interested we can run sweats on any client

Thanks again. I wish I had a great memory too. I tend to rely on notes. I find that when a player doesn't change it up much, these can be invaluable.

I'm surprised more haven't stepped up to this offer, too!

If I had more time, I would jump in, as well!

Good luck to whoever wins this great opportunity!

I haven't been playing nearly as much poker as I would like in the past few years as I have been pretty busy. But I'm currently looking to give my passion for poker the attention it has been craving for quite some time.

As for what I play (When I've been able to) I enjoy the freedom of cash games but really enjoy the feeling of a deep run in a tournament and the thrill of a bink and the impact it can have on your bankroll.

I want the coaching to help maximize the times I get the enjoyment of a deep run and to move up the ladder to increase the impact a bink has on the bankroll and liferoll.

One worry I would have is I have no experience in coaching and the only strategy discussions I've had are with BluffMeAllIn and that guys a total donkey. :p

But when a winning player 30k+ in the black says "Pick my brains for free" and offers a chance to turn a passion into a profitable passion. I'll be more than willing to push the worry of coming off as a fish to the side and embrace the opportunity.

And of course the better one is at poker the more they get to play it (At least that's true for those of us with limited funds) and I would love to play poker morning, night and day.

Hey Jordan,

I am a SNG recreational player beating the $7 that I play at over 4k games. I have recieved coaching for the SNGs that I play which has progressed my game further. I have dabbled with MTT's with some small cashes, I have been looking for a MTT coach but have never came across any that seem worth the money and time needed to put into coaching.

It would be great to get a further educated player within this format to talk some strategies and HH and too see where I am going wrong.

Good luck and thanks :heeeellll:heeeellll
