Not sure if you mean borrow money from them, or take it from them at the tables (by beating them.) Regardless, the answer is : YES! That is what we are hoping for. We want the fish to be in there chasing his gut shot or what not. The fish and degenerate gamblers are the ones that will be taking unnecessary -EV risks. Especially a fish/degen who is chasing his loses on a session. Commend them on their good effort, and tell them they will win next time. And rake in their chips with a smile.

Lol. Fish are at the table trying to relentlessly suck out and hit their 4-outers for your stack. Why would you feel bad taking their money?

If your not taking money from these guys, your likely not making any money at all and if you are it won't be a lot.

Of course! They're the ones that decided to put it on the line. Besides, if you don't take their money, I guarantee you someone else will.

it's not alright it's awesome

Wow do you feel pity while taking money from fishes or degenerate gamblers ? Well for most of us it's a completely different feeling and it's a good feeling. As antonio esfandiari would say one of the great things about playing poker is to cause pain to your opponents by taking their money. Poker players live to get that feeling everyday. If a lion kills it's prey and while eating it feels remorse for it's actions then how will he survive ? Now do you want to survive ?

If they are willing to put it on the table, I'm willing to take it from them. They won't feel bad if they catch the impossible river and beat me.

That is why online poker is tough , the water is fished out and the degens have multiple options with which to donate their cash.. If you don't take it many other will . Also are you not playing to win as much as possible ?

Seems pretty unanimous to me. OF COURSE it's ok to take their money. That's why we're playing.

Ask them if it is alright to take your money. I'm sure they will feel no remorse.

If a person is having an ethical dilemma about it, they should really take another look at whether poker is a game they should be playing. Unless you're prepared to be absolutely ruthless, you won't get far.

Take hardly sounds like borrow. But that's why I think to be a great poker player you have to have no care about anyone's personal situations.

I know quite a few people sadly that will fool themselves into thinking that their situation has and always will be if not the same somewhat worse.

This must of been a joke question??

If not, then of course it is right to take as many chippies as you can get from the bad players, cos if you don't someone else on your table will get those chips and then you will become another statistic as a bad player for not taking the opportunity in taking these chips.

There is nothing immoral in gaining a bad players chips, this is poker and it's what you are playing poker for. There are no friends on your table, so take their chips and look for other bad players at the table muhahahaha :D

I felt really bad about this for a while. I started playing only tournaments for a while and did really well, but I missed the cash game. Thought about it for a few months before I got back on the cash tables.

My reticence came from my own experience of donking off rent. I didn't want to be responsible for that for someone else. I now realize that playing the stakes I'm at, when I have money online, I'm not taking rent from someone. Maybe lunch money, but not rent.

If anyone ever took their rent money on a poker table they need a good kicking anyway.

if you don't contemplate how your actions affect others you are at best blind and at worst a simple animal.

just because everyone else does something is no justification for your actions.

taking anything from the weak is immoral...if you are a TRUE Christian...

and a two dollar prostitute is still a prostitute.

...and for the record I am a money whore...and not religious

this must be the silliest reply ever.

I am sure I must have missed the sarcasm, but after some other threads here going on about morality I have realized what at first seems like sarcasm (cause it is just so ridiculous) is often a very serious reply.

I hope I just missed the sarcasm tho.............
