I am going for the point-a-day this month....is there any other benefits to this strategy other than the freeroll....luckily in this quest for a point I've won some...but it could have turned out different...does playing for a point help your status on FTP?

The point-a-day is about the freeroll. You can turn it into 15 ironman medals, but that won't buy you much. You'd need to do it month after month.

The freeroll is the better deal, IMO.

easiest way is to play the 10cent tourney everyday. that gives you a point a day. if you have rakeback playing the freeroll will be a rakeback hit, other than that if 1 a day is ur only source of medals it'll take you months to save up enough medals to buy anything of real value. tho buying from ironman store doesn't affect your rakeback.

Step 1 ticket is only 20 medals.

I do the point for a day. I either play 5NL rush or 5NL 5 card draw.

I personally skip the freeroll (The freeroll hits rackback). I turn the ticket in to get the medals (15). When I have 20 medals I buy a Step 1 ticket (3.30 BI).

I then take that ticket and proceed to roll it up to a step 3 ticket (26 BI). Now I like to play in 6 man SNG version. Worse case, try to at least shoot for 4th place. This gets you at least 2.70 (IIRC). Even if you putter out still better then the first couple cash spots in the Freeroll. The other perk is you'll be gaining rackback and getting the point for the day.

When I get a Step 3 ticket, I look for a cash version game so I can cash it on. This is the first level you can do that with these tickets. At this point usually Matrix 9-man SNG are going on. I tend to play these with my ticket.

Last month, I made a little over 40 dollars playing in the matrix SNG. Good for my standards, but not the "OH MY" type of thing. I do this to build the bankroll while learning. I feel that I spend less time doing it this way and less aggravating then playing in the freeroll.

it works for my micro style of play. Might not for yours, but I figured I'd share.

I've play a few of the freerolls and found they are worth it, cashed in all but one. They usually pay out 1 of 4 and sometimes 1 of 2.5 due to the fact most don't show up for it.

you should totally go for the freerolls, you would have to exchange them for medals several months before you get something nice... and the freerolls have good payment, specially if you place among the first 50.

Yeah I thought so too, i got tired of spending the time and not really getting much out of it.

Only takes one down month to get enough to get going for 3 months, then rinse repeat. :)

I also do the One-a-Day.

I collect the medals, they all add up, so I can collect on the cash bonus at a later date.
