Here is a link to an article published today in the Washington Post. It talks about how momentum is building for the legalization of online poker in the U.S. Many social conservatives are opposed to this, but the Democrats have overwhelming majorities in the House and Senate, along with a President who is neutral on the subject. Given the government's need for cash any way it can get it, I wouldn't be surprised to see online poker legalized, regulated and taxed in the U.S.

To be perfectly honest i could care less if it ever becomes legalized. They just want to tax you. They realized theyre losing money with people not claiming their winnings.

The poker rooms will have to pass the cost of regulation on to players either through more rake or less comps. Also, heard that lobbyists for big U.S. casino companies going to try to limit competition through limiting licensing of poker rooms. This isn't necessarily good news for poker players.
