Intentional Bubbling?

I found myself in a 625 FPP satellite for poker stars' Turbo Takedown today. And, as we approached the final table, I sized up the payout.

54 players @ 625 FPP = 6 tickets (valued at 5k each)
7th place receives 3750 FPP (the leftovers)

When I hit the final table, I was in 7th place, and I immediately thought of throwing the game when we hit the bubble to get the guaranteed FPP payout. Since you can't unregister from the Turbo Takedown, I might end up winning the ticket and not cashing. I eventually decided against it, but as luck would have it, ended up going out 7th anyway.

So, the question is, has anyone intentionally dumped out on the bubble to take advantage of the leftover cash or FPPs in a satellite? I assume there's no ethical concerns here, because the tourney is over when you go out, so donking off your chips to someone won't affect the game.

I did that once a while back on the pokerstars daily 50000 satellite freeroll (now 80000). Top 27 pay 5.50, but i believe top 5 get tickets to the tourney. I didn't think that i'd have time to play the tourney (because of work) and i just went all in every hand (I know bad poker form!). ended up in 15th or something. Honestly it didn't matter either way.

If I was one of the players left and someone started going all in though, I would be pissed.

Ihave never done that personally but I was on a final table 1 time and saw 2 people who apparantly knew each other quite well and 1 feed his chips to the other intentionally and went out causeing the other person to become the chip leader and eventually win the tourney

If you'd rather not play the Turbo Takedown, why even play this sat? What are you going to do with your 3700+ FPPs? Buy into more sats and hope you bubble again?

Well, that's $37.50 towards the Silver Star cash bonus.

Alternately, I've been converting my FPP into T$ via satellites, and averaging 1.8 cents/FPP there. I then convert the T$ into $ via STTs, and I've got an 18% ROI on those. So, the 3750 FPP is theoretically worth $79.65 to me. I have to grind it out, but it's still a nice payout.

But, like I said, I decided against shooting for the FPP and played for the ticket in the end.

I've never intentionally bubbled. But, given my results, you would think that I intentionally bubble! LOL!

Those tickets are worth $55 , I think you'd be able to trade it for tournament dollars or atleast choose any day to play .

When you get to that point in any satellite, it is a valid decision to make. Since there will be no absolute winner, and everyone there knows that, they may have no valid argument against you decision.

You are not throwing the game, you are making a decision more akin to winning a Yugo, or taking $5,000 in cash. No brainer imo!

I have, on a site called bugsy club. The have BBPs (bugsy bonus points). The top 5 got entry into a $2.20 tournament. 6th place got 110 BBPs, the bbps can be converted into cash .01 per point. I took the dollar and ten cents, and played in the tournaments of my choosing
