i think in that situation i'd push as soon as it was my turn to act
that way it would make it harder for people with those (AK) types of hands to overcall.
i think the fold was a good move thought too...nothing to be mad at here
what were the blinds at?

re

blinds were 200 & 100

the thing is the guy who went over the top of me could of just called the bet & I would of checked down the line regardless. 2 hands is better than 1 when trying to get the last person out in my opinion. Oh I watched the rest of the game ( I came in 4th!) & the short stack who shoulda been out ended up winning. The guy who reraised me came in 3rd.

Tucker,

My advice would have been to fold or push. Calling was not an option in that spot because you invite a semi-"squeeze play" ie, button pushes, you fold unless you have A-A.

That said, 8/10 times, you'll go heads up with the original raiser. It is the 2 times from 10 that you pay for your "weak" play.

Good Luck in the future.

It was a good move to fold the pocket eights. You were up against two players so at least one of them has an overcard. What if an Ace or a King came up, you wouldn't be kicking yourself, would you? Besides, by folding you had a good shot of placing in the Top 3 (I'm assuming the payout is the Top 3). Don't fall in love with your middle pocket pairs, especially in a multi-player all in situation.

Definitely a good play to fold. Pocket 8s aren't the strongest hand to go all in with against more than 1 player. You were left with $1700 in chips, so you were far from out of the game at this point. If B would have hit the A or K, you would have been finished.
