i deposited 200 dollars on full tilt a while ago, and just played 10 dollar SnGs, i slowly but surely made my way to 1000, , and my ROI wasnt fantastic, but i got there after a month or so. At this point i started playing not so good and just kept frustratingly breaking even, so i withdrew everything and decided id try another site.

I deposited on betfair, and found SnG life absolutly dead there, so i thought id try cash games.

I have no idea what im doing wrong, but ive tried 0.1/0.2 and 0.05/0.1 and the players are just insanely bad, but i just cant make money, im losing the more i play, and i have no idea why i cant beat the limits.

I switch a lot between aggresive and tight, and when i do get a hand like AK, i put in very larges raises as i know im always going to be called, and if i start gettin re-popped on flops like KJ7 i cant give them any respect so end up calling all ins to find they have J7 or something.

Ive tried reading a couple of poker books and found them interesting but nothing that really applys to beating donks that dont think about anything and make stupid plays/call.

Any advise on playin these low limit cash games? Or u think i should just give up and go back to another site playing SnGs?

The low level games are very tough, it's almost like playing limit games, no one folds.

Approach them as if you were playing at a limit table, small bets, check when necessary and try to keep the pots small.
Play ONLY the best hands.

If you have the nuts, then make your move but just remember most players are just speculating and you will take a lot of bad beats.

Sometimes its ok to fold 1 pair. Go by your reads and the ranges of your opponents, even low limit donks have a vpip/pfr. Especially lower limits they dont know better on how to value bet/bluff soooo... strong usually means strong.

Yeah, it's important to remember that preflop, AA is just a pair and AK is nothing but A-high. Once cards hit the board it's anybody's game, and playing at penny stakes you might as well be in freerolls -- some people just won't fold if they have paint, bottom pair, or any kind of draw. So be prepared to fold those premium pairs and drawing hands sometimes when they don't improve and villains are shoving over you. It's hard for beginners but one of the advanced skills you have to acquire.

I play primarily at PokerStars and FullTilt. I prefer Stars for cash games, and FT for MTT's and SnG's. No real reason other than I've had the best results that way. Both sites are top-notch. Don't let variance at the bottom-feeder levels lead you to believe either site is more or less fair than the another -- it's just the nature of micro-stakes play.

Try playing TAG. also try raising more preflop.
Try to go for 2pair, better. One pair does not seam to cut it.

Thought, you were doing great with SNG's, i would go back to them.
Do not let tilt get to you it's just a bad run.

That was the first mistake, dont make another. When dealing with online poker the only way to go is build up from free rolls, but the down side is the rivers will just kill you. Take that 200 bucks, buy a beer and sit at a live table then you will make some money.

There are donks in low limit games no matter where you play. Take their money when you can and fold the marginal hands. Skill doesn't apply when you've got a table full of donks. Just play smart and watch out when you decide to reraise or push-they'll call with crap. It's a fact of life. They'll suck out a lot. Use that info to trap them in monster hands. Just deal with it or play live form now on. It aint pretty advice but that's how I deal with it.

thanks guys ive taken in a lot of what you had to say

for now i just decided to stay at betfair on the micro cash games more for practise, and to earn back very slowly what ive lost. Been playing much more TAG, which is working much better, suckouts are at a minimum atm as im only really calling all ins when i have the nuts or near, but without letting too many trying to run over me of course.

starting at 100 dollars i played 4 tables of 0.05/0.1 for 2 hours and got to $125 so i hope this can continue

still finding it quite hard to adjust to the donks, its amazing some of the things they do and pretty impossible to read sometimes haha, but playing TAG cuts a lot of this out so you dont need to put yourself into so many tricky situations
