Hello everyone, I have questions about luck.

1) What is luck for you?

2) How do you experience luck in your life?

3) In what poker situation did you feel with your greatest luck?

Regards and GL!

Hello.
Luck is undoubtedly important, but in my opinion, player skills are a more important factor. Personally, I rely more on my skills.

no good luck charm. you can't control how the cards turn, but you can play with skill and do your best to make sure you have the best odds

I only believe in short term luck. In the long run skill wins out, so a good luck charm is not something I've ever had or considered.

I believe that the luck of any player is directly influenced by his experience and skills. If players with no experience and skills are lucky to win, then I am convinced that this phenomenon is temporary and short-lived.

Having iQ level above 120 is the true luck. In the age of 90, when you'll look back at your life you will realise why.

Sadly, but statistics say that people with iQ level under 80 more probably will have Alzegeimer disease starting in the age of 70, ofc if they will live to 70 years.

High iQ level will tell you that you've been lucky to be born, to have a life, to be educated person, to have internet that gives you options for self education and gives you multiple options to become rich by providing a product or service that makes human society better, something like paying back that credit to the society that raised you and earning profit by investing your ideas to the world.

From such point of view - what product or useful service do you create for yourself and for the society in general, when you're playing poker? Is it a so called "good luck" if you've spent 200 hours at the poker table instead of spending 200 hours to learn some programming language and writing some program that will be giving you a stable and constant profit being sold in the App store or in the Play Market? What is better - to spend 20 years playing poker or to spend 6 years learning neuro surgery and becoming a surgeon who saves lifes and earns stable and high income per year unlike poker player?

Can we compare a poker table to 9 people sitting and riding a 2 wheel bicycle and playing pick-pocketing tournament during a ride? Each year only the "bicycle" seller has stable profit and blessed by good luck, cause he provides a service for sick people who need it. Do you understand who the bicycle seller is? And why all 9 players, as a community are always not having profit and only doing damage to themself, by not evolving the society and themselves.

So, being objective, how and why you put words "luck" and "poker" together? Any poker player is unlucky, it's a sick human, who is masturbating same 52 cards over and over again so that casino or poker site can have profit and that poker player can have a chance plus dose of serotonin - is this a sign of luck? LOL

You know where you can feel the real luck? Grab $200-300, go to the store, spend all money for chocolate bars, candy, and other types of sweets, load you car with sweets and go to the nearst orphanage, ask to see the kids when they're playing outside and ask ladies who work there to split sweets among the children. Be there and feel how lucky you are that you can help them, how lucky you've been than you've had your childhood, and how lucky you can be in the nearest future to help them again. This is the true luck, not your trashy gutshot turning to royal flush at the river.;)

I rely more and believe on the ability to play poker. Somehow luck does not add up to win.

Luck is merely coincidence followed by a favourable consequence. Our brain is a curious thing constantly looking for new information. When we win out of the blue, rather than just accept coincidence our brain will seek to make a metaphysical connection: the coin picked up from the floor, that thing you did differently that day., a talisman in a pocket that someone gave you.
Poker wins are through a series of chaotic events and calculations physical perception and perceived risk vs reward.
If one wants to win more
Play/ practice more
Memorise the basic math at various points play
Play different games you may find one that particularly suits you. It could be because of the speed or numerics of that particular game.
Luck/coincidence may occur between 10&30% of your game. But I wouldn't rely on it.
In a game born from chaos which progresses through numeracy and psychology to an end point. To then appropriate mysticism to an object/act seems absurd.
But, hey. If a talisman of any sort helps you so be it.
But, its not for me.
Wasn't it a professional golf player that said, " The more I practice. The luckier I get." ☺

My lucky dice. I like rolling it out on big hands. It makes all my decisions for me. Like if I roll One Then I bluff. 2 Then I raise. And so forth. Works well. Never Fails. I Always Win. Good Luck At The Tables.

“If there weren’t luck involved, I would win every time.” ~ Phil Hellmuth
I think it is very well said.

Honestly, I have not used concepts like poker luck for a long time.
But maybe I’m lucky in poker if I win a specific hand from below.

I liked this statement.
Well, of course, he puts himself above the rest with this statement. And I think that there are many players equal to him. And many players are better than him.

Gave up sugary cereals a longtime ago regardless if I'm playing poker. Even if they are magically delicious! Nope, nothing needed for luck.

Luck is winning against unfavorable odds, at least on the poker table.

There are many tools available to maximize it but if you go AI and suck out, that's luck.
