Everyone's lost that big hand in a cash game or tournament and got frustrated right? Wanted to just say EFF it I quit!

Tonight I was doing one of my low buy in sit n go's (satellite to the DD), i did all the right stuff, played tight, only won one hand for the first half of the tourney and doubled up. It got down to four handed and one of my opponents had just suffered a pretty bad beat by the donkey bigstack of the table and opened up immediately from UTG with a raise, I looked at AJo in the BB and everyone folded to me, I reraised him and he raised right back, I thought about it and then went all in. He turned over kings and I groaned. I missed completely and was left with about 600 chips and rising blinds.

My BR is really small right now and even this tiny buy in represents a good piece of it. I decided I had a chance if i didn't tilt, the player to my right was super tight big stacked, the one to my left had proven to be the 'best,' and was also the enemy who had taken my stack. The donk with a stack two seats away from me is who I set my eyes on. I folded my small blind and waited. I got A2o on the button the next hand, the player to my right folded, and I raised all in for my last 560 chips or so.

He who took my stack folded, and the donk in the big blind called with K9, we both missed and i won with ace high and had 1100 chips. But with 100/200 blinds I couldnt sit on it for long. With only 5 1/2 BBs I shoved again with QT, this time I got called by the player on my left and the donk two seats away from me. This left me sighing, obviously one of them had to have had me.

The flop missed me, but the player to my left bet out and got the donk out of the hand, he turns over AJ and I accept that I need luck. Luckily I get it! Queen on the turn and I'm more than alive now, I have a stack again at around 3120!

From there it was a steal game and judging my opponents, got the donk with a stack out with TT after he suffered a bad beat to the player to my left, Mr. Gooddonk. Gooddonk and I began to steal each others chips and quiet tight Mr. TightDonk to my right.

Eventually TightDonk fought back and took a big pot from Gooddonk and became the bigstack. I picked up AQo and raised, Tightdonk called and I paired my aces on the flop, he raised and i smooth called, worrying if I might possibly be beat. He raised again larger on the turn, and i decided that I had to either fold or go all in, after thinking about how weak the donk was in the beginning of the tourney (got all in with A8o after calling a big raise with it preflop) I figured if I was beat he got like two pair on the flop. Well we went all in and he turned over A9, river was a blank for him and I beat him on my kicker. This left him short stacked and me with 9000.

Over next hand when I called Tightdonk's all in down with Ts3s, hit my flush and took it down for the win.

We all tilt, a little or a lot. Its impossible to achieve complete control over ourselves. Its never impossible to comeback, you might need a bit of luck along with skill, but you can come back especially when you have weak opponents.

You 3bet an UTG raiser w/AJo from the blinds? What do you do when they call and you miss the flop which happens 2/3 of the time? And those times you hit an ace you really can't be all too happy getting it in either. BTW you need to fill out you address info on fulltilt. I was going to send a little something but it wouldn't allow me to.

I wouldnt have done it if I didnt think he was steaming, it was UTG 4 handed, it was a rushed decision and definitely not a smart one, and sorry I don't know what you mean by address info, i have my screen name filled in i dont know what else you mean.

Good job on the tournament win. I'm a cash game player and tonight I tried a few tournaments and just failed. I don't think re-raising with AJ 4-handed was necessarily a bad call, especially since I don't know the chip counts. I wouldn't say a loss from that would put me on tilt though - what gets me on tilt tends to be (I was on tilt twice tonight)

1) Computer losing internet in the middle of hand (this happened when I had KK)
2) This donk repeatedly taking pots off me with these small bets/playing small ball poker.

I'm thinking there are different levels of tilt. Sometimes I'll get sad or gun shy or vengeful depending on what happens. I've been beaten trip over trip a few times now so I've lost faith in my trips to some extent.

You need to fill out all your info into fulltilt if you ever plan on taking money out.

getting sad and giving up without actually being angry can be just as bad, when you lose your drive you may as well be handing your chips away.
